Walking around several pet accessory shops in Phu Ly city, many people are surprised by the diversity and abundance of pet products: from leashes with funny shapes, eye-catching outfits like sportswear , sweaters, and overalls, to accessories such as glasses, shoes, sleeping beds, perfumes, and even toys and food... A survey of the current market shows that a pet leash costs from 20,000 to 250,000 VND depending on the material and design; pet food bowls cost from 50,000 to 150,000 VND/piece; clothing ranges from 50,000 to 350,000 VND/set; and toys cost from 50,000 to 150,000 VND/item. Pelleted pet food ranges in price from 150,000 to 300,000 VND per bag, while pate-type pet food costs 50,000 to 70,000 VND per can… These products are not only domestically produced but also imported from the US, Japan, Australia, Thailand, and China…
Mr. Bui Manh Tien, owner of Mo Mo Pet Shop (Phu Ly City branch), said: "My store provides everything related to pets, from decorative accessories to food, clothing, and entertainment toys... In recent years, the demand for pet supplies has increased. To run this business, you first need knowledge about different types of pets to advise customers on choosing the best products." While carefully choosing a new carrier for her dog, Ms. Pham Thi Phuong Anh (Chau Cau Ward, Phu Ly City) said: "My family is going on a trip soon, and I'm taking my Poodle with me, so I came to buy pet supplies to take along. Pet supplies are becoming more diverse, making home care easier."
Besides stalls selling fashion items, accessories, and toys, veterinary services and pet care are also attracting a lot of customer interest. At Phuly Pet Veterinary Hospital (Chau Cau Ward, Phu Ly City), in addition to treating animals, they also offer a variety of grooming services: massage, trimming, bathing, nail trimming, ear cleaning, etc. Typically, customers have to spend from 100,000 VND to millions of VND to use these services, depending on the weight and the owner's requirements.
Furthermore, to meet the pet-sitting needs of many animal lovers, these stores also offer pet boarding services (hotels for dogs and cats). These hotels are equipped with odor control systems, direct oxygen supply, and well-lit, comfortable rooms to ensure optimal hygiene. All areas within the hotel are monitored by a 24/7 camera system, and staffed by veterinarians and experienced personnel for pet care, training, and education. The price for each pet hotel room ranges from 120,000 VND to 1,000,000 VND per day, depending on the room quality. Many places also offer additional packages, shopping vouchers, loyalty cards, and reward vouchers for customers.
Mr. Phan Hien Luong, owner of Phuly Pet veterinary hospital, shared: "In the city, there are increasingly more shops offering pet grooming services. Therefore, to create competition, attract and retain customers, we pay close attention to customer consultation and care. First and foremost, you must have a love for animals. Pets are very intelligent and affectionate. Owners can observe their pets' reactions to know if the staff are attentive and dedicated, and make a decision about using the service again."
As we can see, with today's fast-paced lifestyle, caring for and playing with pets to relax and reduce stress is a common practice for many individuals and families. Therefore, pet grooming and beauty services are becoming increasingly promising, fully meeting the needs of those who enjoy owning pets.
