Mr. Ho Dai Duong, from Suoi Thong C village, Don Duong commune ( Lam Dong province), is a provincial-level outstanding farmer with a large cultivated area specializing in high-quality crops. “We farmers are now applying high technology and smart technology to large-scale production. For example, my family specializes in growing chrysanthemums and gerberas, and our greenhouses are fully automated,” Mr. Ho Dai Duong shared.

Mr. Duong stated that the garden was built to the highest standards, with a smart irrigation system, an automatic fertilization system, and an automatically switched-on/off lighting system. All production management systems are automated, programmed via an app, and monitored in real time. Water, fertilizer, and nutrient levels can be adjusted via mobile phone, reducing labor costs and saving water and agricultural supplies.

Besides growing flowers in greenhouses, Mr. Ho Dai Duong is also a partner of Pepsi Co, specializing in growing pink potatoes to supply the snack processing company. Working with the company under contract, Mr. Duong has to standardize production and keep electronic logs for the company to monitor. With 10 hectares of agricultural land, he has developed a multi-cropping farm model. Therefore, he understands the importance of digitalization in large-scale agricultural production. “Without digitalization, production management would be very difficult, slow, and prone to errors. Even in labor management, I have implemented an automated management system to ensure efficiency and minimize errors,” Mr. Duong shared.

In 2024-2025, Mr. Duong received support from the Lam Dong Provincial Agricultural Extension Center to develop a digitalized production process using FaceFarm software on his farm. With FaceFarm, farmers can upload production logs to the internet, thereby completely managing the farming process, from land preparation, planting, fertilizing, and harvesting, monitoring the process, and supervising each worker. Applying FaceFarm helps optimize costs and labor... More importantly, the software also closely connects consumers - customers - with the farm. Customers can access and trace the origin of products, monitor the farm's production process, and understand the specific quality and origin of the products. Consumers can also provide feedback and make requests to the farm quickly and specifically. After more than a year of application, Mr. Ho Dai Duong highly appreciates FaceFarm in internal management as well as online sales.

Ms. Ngo Hoai Nam, a technical officer at the Lam Dong Provincial Agricultural Extension Center, stated that supporting the digitalization of agricultural production is a priority for the province's agricultural sector. Mr. Ho Dai Duong's farm, along with several other farms, has tested the FaceFarm software application, demonstrating its effectiveness, particularly in providing agricultural products to customers online. Customers can search for products, learn about the variety, planting process, harvest date, and supply quantity to place orders according to their specific requirements. Not stopping at flowers, Ho Dai Duong's farm is expanding to other crops such as pink potatoes and cucumbers.
