Pay fines and commit to correct deficiencies

Báo Thanh niênBáo Thanh niên18/12/2023

On December 18, the People's Committee of Hai Chau District ( Da Nang City) announced that the VSK High-Tech Medical Testing and Diagnosis Center (referred to as the Center) under the VSK Central Highlands General Hospital Joint Stock Company, had paid an administrative fine after the authorities inspected it following a report of selling functional foods during free testing in Da Nang City.

As Thanh Nien reported, the Health Department of Hai Chau District People's Committee coordinated with inspection agencies to fine the Center 9.5 million VND for not posting prices of goods and services and the person in charge of the professional responsibility of the drug retail facility was absent during operating hours.

The Center has paid fines, corrected violations and fully met the conditions and requirements prescribed by law for other inspection contents.

In a document sent to Thanh Nien , the Center said it was licensed to operate in November 2023 and has coordinated with sponsors to organize free testing and general health check-ups for the elderly and people at risk of chronic diseases.

The free program includes shuttle bus, breakfast, lunch, general examination and testing of hematology, liver function, blood lipids, diabetes, osteoporosis measurement, lifestyle consultation, nutrition, exercise, etc. In case customers need to use advanced specialized services or buy functional products, then a fee will be charged.

Notably, the Center affirms that it has no policy of selling non-transparent goods and commits that all goods have a specific origin, source, and use; requires product suppliers to provide serious, standard, and professional advice.

However, while people were waiting for free test results, some staff gave advice about functional products, but the advice was incomplete, leading to "misunderstandings for customers".

"We also require product suppliers (who have sold to people) to resolve any product quality issues that people complain about, ensuring people's rights, and even refunding money," said a representative of the Center.

According to the previous explanation to the Health Department of Hai Chau District People's Committee, this Center also confirmed that some employees selling functional products to people while waiting for free test results, had caused customers to misunderstand because of inadequate consultation.
