"Today's Country" is a song composed by musician Nguyen Thanh Trung, arranged by musician Duong Duc Thuy, performed by People's Artist Quoc Hung and singer Thu Hang, with the participation of the Choir of the Vietnam National Academy of Music. The music video was directed by Anh Quan. The work has a chamber music feel, treated in a semi-classical-pop style to broaden its appeal to contemporary audiences.

Sharing about his songwriting process, composer Nguyen Thanh Trung said that he had written many singles about the country, but the familiar melodic framework was still insufficient to fully express the scale and depth of history. From that concern, he chose the epic form with its large structure, multiple chapters, and layers of emotion, considering it "a sufficiently broad musical space for the theme of the country to speak."

The reason why People's Artist Quoc Hung invited the female singer 25 years younger than him to duet in his new music video.People's Artist Quoc Hung has just released his new music video "Today's Country". What's special is that he invited Thu Hang – a female singer 25 years younger than him – to duet on the song, which was composed by musician Nguyen Thanh Trung and arranged by musician Duong Duc Thuy.

The work, "The Country Today," is divided into six chapters, combining various forms such as lyrical, heroic, marching, and celebratory songs. From the perspective of an experienced performing artist, People's Artist Quoc Hung, Director of the Vietnam National Academy of Music, assesses the work as a beautiful encounter between music and contemporary issues.

People's Artist Quoc Hung emotionally shared that "Today's country is like a historical stream told through music, from its formation through blood and tears, through the years when our ancestors bravely fought against foreign invaders, to the period of innovation, construction, and learning to rise strongly as it is today." For him, music in his works is no longer a personal expression, but a form of contribution.

The fact that the music video was released just in time to celebrate the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam made that feeling even more complete, like a beautiful encounter between music and the times, where the singing is placed within the grand context of the nation.

Words of the wind - words of tears and smiles
Words of the wind - words of tears and smilesI was fortunate to receive the manuscript of my epic poem "Words of the Wind" (part of the epic poem-poem collection "Mother Sitting by the Window" - pictured) from my dear brother and colleague, the poet and journalist Tran The Tuyen, with a simple, unpretentious message: "Please read and give your feedback." Of course I read it, but I didn't dare to "feed it with my own opinion." The following words I write are in my capacity as a reader and as a younger brother of the poet Tran The Tuyen.

The music video utilizes many valuable historical documents combined with majestic landscapes of the country from all three regions. The music video "Today's Country" is considered a valuable effort, contributing a voice of political commentary through the language of art, connecting history with contemporary life.
