Director Tran Binh Trong - son of People's Artist Tran Nhuong - shared with VietNamNet that during cold weather, elderly people with chronic diseases are easily affected, and his father was among them.
"The end of the year is also the time when many organizations invite my father to events, and he travels a lot, so he got tired and had to be hospitalized. However, his health is gradually stabilizing," director Tran Binh Trong said.
In a recent interview with VietNamNet reporters, People's Artist Tran Nhuong revealed that he has to rely on medication daily due to multiple illnesses such as diabetes, acid reflux, herniated disc, high cholesterol, and fatty liver disease.

People's Artist Tran Nhuong, born in 1952, was the former Director of the People's Police Theatre. Beyond the stage, he made a lasting impression on audiences through a series of villainous roles in popular television dramas such as: *The Reverse Light Streak*, *Who's Angry, Who's Loving*, *Long Tri Night Festival*, *Provincial Chairman*, *The Judge*, *Life and Death*, *Underground Storm*, *Battle of Wits *…
After retiring, People's Artist Tran Nhuong's workload became even heavier than when he was still in office. He said that performing in so many shows wasn't for the money, but because of his passion and the fact that acting had become ingrained in him; he couldn't stand not doing it.
"My Colonel's pension is nearly 20 million dong. Sitting still would be fine, but because I'm naturally inclined to travel, just a few days of sitting in one place makes me feel sluggish and my mind isn't sharp. Therefore, even though I'm a little tired, I try to go out; if I'm not performing, I'll attend events to meet friends and colleagues," he once shared.
