Preventive health workers are always the silent "warriors," pioneers in monitoring, controlling, and preventing epidemics. While not directly treating patients, they protect public health through essential measures such as vaccination, infectious disease prevention, and public health education.
Working in a difficult, dangerous, and harsh environment, Dr. Vo Thi Thuy Trang remains undeterred, always dedicated, responsible, and proactive in being present in high-risk areas and "epicenters of outbreaks" to monitor, isolate, and promptly handle infectious diseases, ensuring the health of the community.
In addition to being readily available at "hot spots," Dr. Trang, along with the leaders of the Department of Infectious Disease Prevention and Control, proactively advised the Board of Directors of the Da Nang Center for Disease Control and Prevention on implementing preventive measures, developing plans and strategies for rapid response to disease outbreaks, and minimizing the risk of community transmission.
Typically, in 2025, in response to the complex measles outbreak, Dr. Trang and her team actively implemented timely preventive measures; advised on the development of an emergency response plan; launched a campaign to administer supplementary measles-rubella vaccines to high-risk individuals and children who had not received all doses; and coordinated catch-up and supplementary measles vaccination campaigns, raising the coverage rate to a safe level (over 95%).

Dr. Trang also focused on guiding the epidemiological surveillance team to closely monitor the area, detect early clusters of cases in schools and residential areas; and directly guided the thorough handling of 100% of newly emerging measles outbreaks, preventing the disease from spreading and prolonging.
According to the head of the Da Nang Center for Disease Control, Dr. Trang and key staff of the Department of Infectious Disease Prevention and Control proactively advised on plans to strengthen disease prevention and control efforts according to seasons, epidemic situations, and peak periods.
Simultaneously, actively coordinate with local authorities to urgently address the aftermath of storms and floods; advise on organizing inspections and monitoring; mobilize manpower to support and provide medicines, supplies, and chemicals for environmental treatment and water purification in affected areas.
As a result, infectious diseases in the city are well controlled.
Dr. Nguyen Dai Vinh, Director of the Da Nang Center for Disease Control, acknowledged: Doctor Vo Thi Thuy Trang consistently demonstrates a high sense of responsibility, readily accepting and successfully completing assigned tasks, even under high pressure, long working hours, and in a work environment with potential infection risks.
In particular, Dr. Trang always maintains a healthy lifestyle, a scientific work style, dedication to her work, and responsibility to the community; always taking public health as the guiding principle for all her actions.
Dr. Trang's actions have contributed to a positive ripple effect within the team, building the image of a dedicated and responsible healthcare professional committed to public health; she is a role model trusted by her colleagues, earning prestige and positive public opinion within the unit.
