In Rieng Village, 7 poor households and 2 near-poor households were supported to repair and build houses under the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses. During the implementation of the program, Ms. Kpa Pheo spent time visiting each household to monitor the construction progress.

She said: At first, many households were hesitant and did not want to contribute because they did not have money. I had to go to each house to explain and encourage them. Accordingly, 8/9 households participated in contributing to make their houses more spacious. For households that could not contribute, the locality mobilized forces to help with labor days, and at the same time, mobilized businesses to support an additional 10 million VND.

Mrs. Kpa Grang’s family is one of the households that received support to build a house. Along with the State’s support (60 million VND), her family contributed an additional 40 million VND. The house has 1 living room, 1 bedroom, and is a place for her and her daughter’s family to live. “From now on, I no longer have to worry about storms,” Mrs. Grang said emotionally.

Every day, Ms. Pheo regularly visits each house to listen to the thoughts and aspirations of the people. Based on that, she advises and proposes to the local Party Committee and government models that are suitable to the actual conditions. Thanks to that, many poor and near-poor households have been supported with breeding cows, guided to convert crops and livestock, or recruited to work as workers in enterprises.

Lang Rieng has 441 hectares of production land, including 273 hectares of coffee, 80 hectares of pepper, 70 hectares of rubber, 18 hectares of cashew; the total herd of cattle is more than 1,200. Thanks to the attention of the State and the efforts of the people, the poverty rate has decreased from 82 households (in 2020) to 25 households.

In 2024, Mr. Ro Cham Chuech's family was supported with a cow. He himself was given the opportunity to work as a worker at Truong Hai Group Joint Stock Company with an income of 6 million VND/month. "My family has 3 sao of rice land. Now I work as a worker, my wife stays home to grow rice, raise cows and take care of 2 small children. I try to work hard to have a better future" - Mr. Chuech shared.

Before holding the position of Party Cell Secretary (2016) and then being elected Village Chief (2020), Ms. Pheo was the President of the Women's Union of Ia Boong Commune for many years. Practical experience from the grassroots movement helps her to always be flexible and creative in propaganda and mobilization.

Thanks to her leadership, the people of Rieng village have increasingly responded strongly to patriotic emulation movements, studying and following Uncle Ho, maintaining environmental hygiene, and building new rural areas. Up to now, 98% of households have stable fenced gardens, 95% of households have renovated mixed gardens, and 100% of livestock households have solid barns.

In order to contribute to preserving and promoting the cultural identity of the nation, in early 2024, Ms. Pheo mobilized the village to establish a Women's Gong Club with 30 members. This is also the first Women's Gong Club in Chu Prong district. Although newly established, the Club has participated in performances at many major events such as: The 4th Congress of Ethnic Minorities of Chu Prong district - 2024, the 70th anniversary of the founding of the District Party Committee (September 15, 1954 - September 15, 2024).

With her contributions, at the conference summarizing 10 years of implementing Directive No. 05-CT/TW dated May 15, 2016 of the 12th Politburo on promoting studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle, Ms. Kpa Pheo was one of 17 individuals honored to receive a certificate of merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for her outstanding achievements in studying and following Uncle Ho.

Speaking to reporters, Mr. Nguyen Huu Thanh - Secretary of the Party Committee of Ia Boong commune - commented: "Comrade Kpa Pheo is a dedicated, responsible, close person and is always trusted and loved by the people. His exemplary spirit and closeness have created a positive influence in the community."
