Outstanding female worker

Amidst the vibrant atmosphere of this year's Workers' Month, there is great joy for Ms. Nguyen Thu Thanh (born in 1985), Team Leader of Screening Team 3, Screening and Consumption Site, Cao Son Coal Joint Stock Company.

But   TKV's achievements become even more significant when she is honored by the Provincial Labor Union as one of the 50 outstanding advanced workers at the provincial level. As one of the few female workers to be honored on this occasion, Ms. Thanh is a vivid example of the perseverance, creativity, and unwavering dedication of female workers in the coal industry.

Born and raised in the Cam Pha mining region, Nguyen Thu Thanh was familiar from a young age with the diligent and resilient image of the miners, unafraid of hardship and difficulty, especially the image of her father with his face and hands stained with coal dust, but his eyes always shining with pride after each shift. Her love for the coal industry grew steadily, and when she grew up, she chose to follow in her father's footsteps, dedicating herself to the profession of coal sorting and screening.

Nearly 15 years of tireless work amidst the deafening noise of coal screening machines, coal dust, and sweat, Ms. Thanh has forged in herself a resilient work ethic, a deep love for her profession, and the unwavering character of a coal miner.

As the team leader of Screening Team 3, managing 20 workers, mostly women, she is not only a production manager but also a responsible older sister and companion who always cares for and shares with each member of the team, both in work and in daily life. Working in the coal industry in general, or screening work in particular, is inherently dry, arduous, and difficult for women, but under Ms. Thanh's leadership, Screening Team 3 always remains united, enthusiastically competing, and successfully completing the assigned tasks.

In 2024, Screening Team 3's output reached 659,222.99 tons, achieving 105.86% of the annual plan. Along with successfully screening various types of raw coal, from grade 3 to grade 7, according to consumption requirements, the team also actively recovered lump coal, contributing significantly to the overall production efficiency of the Company. Particularly on rainy and windy days, the image of the women in Screening Team 3 proactively covering coal with tarpaulins or spraying water to suppress dust is a common sight.   Operating the screening equipment to maintain a clean, dust-free working environment has become a positive and responsible practice on the construction site.

As a Party member and an active and creative team leader, Ms. Thanh has always been exemplary and a pioneer in the scientific research movement, promoting technical innovation and improvement. For three consecutive years, from 2022 to 2024, her initiatives have been effectively implemented, contributing to reducing material costs, increasing productivity and work efficiency, and ensuring workplace safety.   The following initiatives are particularly noteworthy:   “Proposed solution for fabricating the working platform at the open bunker location of screening system 3”; “Proposed solution for changing the bearing support at the end of the SQC-62B screening belt (screen 3) from a single piece to a two-half assembly for convenient disassembly and repair”; “Proposed solution for fabricating a rubber shield to create an anti-wear plate, reducing impact at the SQC-62B screening bunker”...

Not stopping there, in 2024, Ms. Thanh also participated with Screening Team 3 in carrying out two challenging projects: "Renovating the feed grate assembly of Screening Team 3" and "Improving and reinstalling the vibrating screen assembly," thereby helping the construction site in general and Screening Team 3 in particular to achieve more efficient production.

For Ms. Nguyen Thu Thanh, working and contributing to the team and the company is not only a responsibility but also a joy, encouraging her to strive every day. Ms. Thanh shared: "Every morning when I step onto the construction site, what I hope for most is that my colleagues in the production team work efficiently and safely. That is also the motivation for us to become more united and bonded together, overcoming daily hardships, constantly striving and contributing even more to the development of our shared home, Cao Son Coal Mine."

Through her tireless efforts and dedication, Ms. Nguyen Thu Thanh has consistently excelled in all her assigned tasks each year. For three consecutive years, from 2022 to 2024, she received the "Outstanding Emulation Soldier" title at the grassroots level, and in 2023, she received the "Outstanding Emulation Soldier" title at the TKV (Vietnam Coal Corporation) level. Amidst countless workers diligently contributing to the coal industry in the Northeast region, Ms. Nguyen Thu Thanh's exemplary work ethic and creativity continue to inspire the younger generation of workers and further enhance the positive image of women in the coal industry in the modern era.
