The sand dune system in the North Central Coast of Vietnam has high biodiversity and plays an important role in people's livelihoods. However, in recent decades, coastal sand dunes have been severely degraded, causing loss of biodiversity, depletion of groundwater resources and affecting people's livelihoods due to the impacts of extreme natural disasters and climate change. Therefore, the restoration of degraded coastal sand dunes is extremely important and meaningful.
Author Ho Ngoc Anh Tuan with the series of works "Smiles of Forest Planters", records the efforts, joy, enthusiasm and excitement of local people in 3 provinces: Quang Binh, Quang Tri and TT Hue when participating in forest planting with native trees. The series of photos was submitted by the author to the Photo and Video Contest Happy Vietnam - Happy Vietnam, organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications . 





A series of projects have been and are being implemented nationwide and have brought about high results not only for the development of Vietnam's forest area in the coming time but also contributed to increasing income for farmers who plant and protect forests.
