The sand dune system in the North Central coastal region of Vietnam boasts high biodiversity and plays a vital role in the livelihoods of the local population. However, in recent decades, severe degradation of coastal sand dunes has led to a loss of biodiversity, depletion of groundwater resources, and impacts on people's livelihoods due to extreme weather events and climate change. Therefore, restoring these degraded coastal sand dunes is extremely important and significant.
Author Ho Ngoc Anh Tuan's series of works, "The Smile of the Forest Planters," captures the efforts, joy, enthusiasm, and excitement of local people in three provinces: Quang Binh, Quang Tri, and Thua Thien Hue, as they participate in reforestation using native trees. The series was submitted to the Happy Vietnam Photo and Video Contest, organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications . 





A series of projects have been and are being implemented nationwide, yielding significant results not only for the future development of Vietnam's forest area but also contributing to increased income for farmers involved in planting and protecting forests.
