Ms. Le Thi Nha Phuong (born in 1987), Head of Vinh Hamlet, An Co Commune, Chau Thanh District, is a responsible, enthusiastic, and dynamic person in her work. She balances her family responsibilities with excellent performance in her assigned duties, earning the trust and affection of the local people.

After graduating from high school, Ms. Phuong participated in local social work. Being a dynamic and active young woman, she has always been exemplary and a leader in all her work, regardless of her position. In 2023, she was honored to be admitted to the Party. In 2024, she was assigned to the position of Deputy Secretary of the Party Branch and Head of Vinh Hamlet, a position she holds to this day.

Ms. Le Thi Nha Phuong shared: “As a young woman with limited experience in social work, I was very worried when the people trusted me enough to elect me as village head, especially regarding accessing new policies and implementing grassroots democracy effectively. Not wanting to disappoint everyone's expectations, I strive to research and learn every day to improve myself, hoping to contribute my youthful energy to building my homeland.”

Upon receiving her assignment, Ms. Phuong immediately set about gathering information and data on the economic , social, and cultural situation of the hamlet. She also took the opportunity to meet with veteran revolutionary cadres and experienced predecessors to learn more, which she then applied to her assigned work.

Following the directives of the Party Committee and the People's Committee of the commune regarding the implementation of the new rural development program, Ms. Phuong, in coordination with the Party branch, the Front Committee, and other mass organizations in the hamlet, mobilized many households to donate land to implement the plan for concreting village roads and alleys according to the motto "The State and the People work together." She organized meetings with the people in the hamlet to discuss and promptly resolve any difficulties. Taking advantage of her free time, she went to each household to persuade and explain the plan to the people. As a result, 21 households in the hamlet voluntarily removed their fences and crops, clearing the land for rural roads.

"During the campaign, I always put myself in people's shoes, prioritizing their interests. I always maintain a close and friendly approach so that people can confide in me and express their concerns, thereby understanding their thoughts and aspirations in order to provide timely support," Ms. Phuong confided.

Recognizing the crucial role of applying information technology in propaganda work, the Head of Vinh Hamlet established a propaganda group through the Zalo social network. She actively creates videos to disseminate legal information, information about new policies and guidelines, and highlights good examples; she also designs many video clips guiding people on how to use the features of the VNeID application.

Not only is she proactive in propaganda and mobilization work, but Ms. Phuong also always cares for and helps those in difficult circumstances in the locality. Although she has not been the village head for long, she has mobilized benefactors to support 5 health insurance cards for people in difficult circumstances; and organized the distribution of more than 300 gifts to policy beneficiary families, Agent Orange victims, and disadvantaged households in the village during the Lunar New Year, each gift worth 300,000 VND.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai, residing in Vinh hamlet, said: “Knowing about our difficult family circumstances, Ms. Phuong frequently visited, encouraged, and mobilized benefactors to donate rice, noodles, and household items to help our family. I am extremely grateful.”

According to Mr. Truong Van Nhanh, head of Self-Management Team No. 23 in Vinh Hamlet, when Ms. Phuong first became hamlet head, some residents were apprehensive and skeptical about a relatively young hamlet head. However, after a period of interaction and work, all activities in the hamlet ran smoothly, and gradually people came to understand and trust the female hamlet head.

Despite her time-consuming social work, Ms. Le Thi Nha Phuong still manages to balance her time between work and family responsibilities to care for her children and foster a happy home. Her family was recognized by the Chau Thanh District People's Committee as a model cultural family for the period 2017-2022.
