According to AFP, Nvidia's phenomenal growth is due to the booming demand for chips used to run artificial intelligence (AI) software in data centers. This is also a product the company has focused on recently. According to CEO Jensen Huang, Nvidia ramped up large-scale production of its latest Blackwell chips and recorded billions of dollars in sales in the first quarter after their launch.

AFP quoted analyst Jacob Bourne from the US-based market research firm Emarketer as saying that despite market concerns about the unexpected success of DeepSeek (China) and the difficulties in deploying Blackwell, Nvidia's business results show that the company is still leading the AI market. According to him, Nvidia's competitors are striving to accelerate their progress, but advanced AI models require the computing resources that Nvidia provides.
