Nvidia, the chip manufacturer, has just announced that Nintendo's Switch 2 handheld gaming device will have 10 times the graphics processing power of its predecessor. Nvidia is Nintendo's primary chip manufacturing partner.
In a recent blog post on Nvidia's official website, the chip giant confirmed its involvement in developing the hardware for the Switch 2 and provided information about the product's graphics capabilities.
According to Nvidia, the Switch 2 will have sharper images with 10 times the graphics performance.
A tenfold performance increase is a huge leap forward compared to the previous generation of the Wii U and Switch. This means gamers can enjoy a more immersive experience with the Switch 2.
Nvidia's announcement has reinforced previous rumors about the Switch 2's hardware configuration. It's predicted that the device will use a custom chip based on Nvidia's powerful Tegra T239 architecture, potentially delivering performance superior to even the PlayStation 4. Additionally, RAM capacity is also predicted to reach 12 GB.
However, Nintendo has yet to release details about the Switch 2's specifications. The Switch 2 is scheduled to officially reach fans around June 2025.
The fact that popular games with high hardware requirements like Cyberpunk 2077 and Elden Ring have been confirmed to be available on this platform has further fueled the anticipation of the Switch 2 among the gaming community.
