TPO - On weekends, each convoy of vehicles goes up Hai Van Pass (connecting Da Nang city and Thua Thien Hue province) to visit. At the top of the pass, cars have to move little by little, continuously dropping passengers off at Hai Van Quan relic.
From early morning, the road to Hai Van pass was crowded with vehicles. Not only backpackers but many tourist groups also choose to go to the pass to try a little adventure and enjoy the cool air in the mountains. Clip: Thanh Tran. |

Passenger buses with dozens of seats lined up one after another, making the road at the top of the pass crowded and congested. |
Cars go up and down continuously, and the roadside cafes are crowded with customers. The restaurant owners said that from 4 or 5 a.m., there were already customers going to the top of the pass because the earlier you get up here, the more beautiful it is to see Hai Van Pass in the mist. Every day, the shops welcome customers until evening. |
The top of Hai Van Pass, where the national relic Hai Van Quan is located, is a destination that attracts many tourists, especially foreigners. |
Motorbikes, personal cars, tourist vehicles and groups of people come to Hai Van Pass continuously during the weekend. |
However, the Hai Van Quan relic is still under restoration, so visitors can only see it from the outside. The entrances have been locked and guarded strictly. |
Hai Van Quan relic was built at an altitude of 490m above sea level, located in Phu Loc district, Thua Thien Hue province and Lien Chieu district, Da Nang city. In 2017, the relic was ranked a National Monument by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. In 2021, the two localities will jointly repair and restore the Hai Van Quan relic, but it is still not complete. |
Many tourists regret coming here to only see Hai Van Quan through the steel fence. |
“We came from Nam Dinh to Da Nang and wanted to climb Hai Van Quan once, but when we got here, the security guard stopped us from entering because there was construction and renovation going on inside. I can only stand and watch from afar and then go home," Mr. Nguyen Huu Binh, a tourist from Nam Dinh, regretted. |

Looking down from Hai Van Quan is the green, rolling mountains. When renovations have not been carried out, this is a "check-in" destination for many young people. |
