DTO - On March 31st, in Cao Lanh City, Mr. Nguyen Van Vu Minh - Provincial Party Committee member, Director of the Department of Internal Affairs; Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Tuyet - Deputy Director of the Department of Internal Affairs; representatives from the Tam Nong District People's Committee, the Provincial Youth Union, and the Provincial Women's Union welcomed a delegation from Yeoncheon District, Gyeonggy Province, South Korea, led by Mr. Kim Deog Hyun - Chairman of Yeoncheon District; Ms. Bae Doo Young - District Council member; and representatives from the Agricultural Policy Department and the Central Agricultural Cooperative Association of the district. The delegation met with 94 workers preparing to depart for South Korea for employment.

Mr. Kim Deog Hyun
, Chairman of Yeoncheon County, delivered a speech at the meeting.

In the warm and friendly atmosphere of the meeting, Mr. Kim Deog Hyun, Chairman of Yeoncheon County, highly appreciated the warm and formal welcome and expressed his gratitude to the leaders of Dong Thap Province, the Department of Internal Affairs, the Employment Service Center, and other departments and units that coordinated in the selection and placement of workers in Yeoncheon County. Yeoncheon County mainly accepts seasonal workers to work on specialty crops and vegetables such as ginseng, cucumbers, cabbage, and chili peppers. In 2025, it is expected to receive a total of 372 seasonal workers, including 225 from Dong Thap. With the increasingly positive response from Korean farmers, it is expected that approximately 500 workers will be accepted in the next three years.

At the meeting, delegates and workers watched a video clip introducing the working and resting conditions when working seasonally in South Korea. Individuals who had previously worked in South Korea shared their experiences, learning and training processes, and how, after their contracts expired, they confidently applied the knowledge they had learned to agricultural production in their local areas upon returning home.

Representatives from the Department of Internal Affairs,
Yeoncheon County , Tam Nong County People's Committee, and political and social organizations presented gifts and took commemorative photos with 94 workers going to South Korea for employment.

The program to send seasonal workers to Yeoncheon County, implemented by Gyeonggi Province and Dong Thap Province since 2022, has yielded positive results. Through the cooperation between the Gyeonggi and Dong Thap provincial governments, workers sent to South Korea by the Employment Service Center (under the Department of Internal Affairs) have experienced many advantages and high incomes. They also receive attention and support from local leaders and farm owners, ensuring preferential policies and rights, and have learned many modern Korean work practices and agricultural techniques to apply in their homeland.
