Mr. Ning - Village Head, "Two Excellences"

(GLO) - Not only focusing on developing his family's economy, Mr. Ning, the head of O Yo village (Ia Bang commune, Dak Doa district), also takes the lead in local movements and activities. He deserves the title of "Two Excellences" village head.

After completing his military service in 2012, Mr. Ning returned to his hometown and started a family. Despite being busy with making a living, he still found time to participate in youth work and community activities. In 2022, he was elected Party Branch Secretary and Head of O Yo Village.

“In the beginning, I faced many difficulties. However, thanks to the support and encouragement from the Party branch committee and previous generations, I gained more motivation to successfully complete the assigned tasks,” Mr. Ning shared.

Following the principle of "doing first, guiding later," Mr. Ning proactively participated in training courses on coffee cultivation techniques to accumulate knowledge for production development. In 2019, he removed 7 acres of old coffee trees to replant with the TR4 variety. Thanks to proper care techniques, the coffee plantation achieved high yields. After deducting expenses, his family earned over 140 million VND per year.

“To improve production efficiency, in 2022, I intercropped 50 durian trees in my coffee plantation. Thanks to applying the correct technical procedures, the durian trees are growing and developing well and are expected to be harvested next year. In addition, I also raise pigs and ducks, which adds about 30 million VND/year to my income,” Mr. Ning said.

Besides focusing on developing his family's economy , Mr. Ning also actively promotes, encourages, and supports people in registering for rural vocational training courses such as construction, mechanics, safe vegetable farming, and pig farming. "If you want people to change their mindset and way of doing things, you have to go to them, explain each thing clearly, not just give empty promises," Mr. Ning said.

Mr. Un (from the same village) shared: “Thanks to Mr. Ning's technical guidance, the yield of my coffee plantation increased from 2 tons to 4 tons of beans per hectare. In addition, I also opened a mechanical workshop to increase my family's income.”

Besides helping local people develop their economy, Mr. Ning also assists the local government in resolving people's opinions and requests. In addition, he actively encourages people to participate in environmental protection activities, donate to support those affected by natural disasters, and eliminate temporary and dilapidated housing.

With his dynamism and enthusiasm, Mr. Ning has consistently excelled in his work over the years and received numerous commendations from various levels. Mr. Tran Minh Duc, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ia Bang commune, assessed: "During the course of his duties, Mr. Ning always upheld a high sense of responsibility and effectively played the role of disseminating information and mobilizing people to change their mindset and practices, proactively applying science and technology to production to develop their family economy."
