Mr. Tran Thanh Man has been assigned to oversee the activities of the National Assembly.

On the afternoon of May 2nd, following the closing of the 7th extraordinary session of the 15th National Assembly , the Standing Committee of the National Assembly issued a notice regarding the assignment of responsibilities for managing the activities of the Standing Committee and the National Assembly until the appointment of the Speaker of the National Assembly is finalized.

Accordingly, Politburo member and Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man has been assigned to oversee the activities of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly and the National Assembly until the position of Chairman of the National Assembly is filled as prescribed.

Earlier, the majority of National Assembly delegates present agreed to relieve Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue from his position as Chairman of the National Assembly . The National Assembly Standing Committee has not yet proposed a replacement for this position.

Mr. Tran Thanh Man, Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, has been assigned to oversee the activities of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly and the National Assembly itself.

Mr. Tran Thanh Man was born in 1962 in Chau Thanh district, Hau Giang province.

He was an alternate member of the Central Committee of the Party in the 10th term; a member of the Central Committee in the 11th, 12th, and 13th terms; Secretary of the Central Committee in the 12th term; a member of the Politburo in the 13th term; and a member of the National Assembly in the 13th, 14th, and 15th terms.

Mr. Tran Thanh Man has many years of experience working with the Youth Union in Hau Giang and Can Tho provinces.

From July 1994, Mr. Tran Thanh Man served as Chief of Office, then as Vice Chairman and Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho province/city.

Mr. Tran Thanh Man also served as Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee for over four years, before holding the positions of Vice Chairman and then Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

In April 2021, Mr. Tran Thanh Man was elected Vice Chairman of the National Assembly by the 14th National Assembly.

In July 2021, at the First Session, Mr. Tran Thanh Man was elected Vice Chairman of the National Assembly by the 15th National Assembly, and subsequently he was assigned to be the Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly.
