The mighty 'Buffalo' number 4 bravely wins the championship.

The final match of the 2024 Do Son Buffalo Fighting Festival took place between buffalo number 04 owned by Luu Dinh Khang from Hai Son ward and buffalo number 07 owned by Nguyen Ngoc Hung from Ngoc Xuyen ward (both in Do Son district, Hai Phong city).

A dramatic and unexpected final match unfolded between "Buffalo" 04 and "Buffalo" 07.

This match was considered evenly matched, with both buffalo owners possessing years of experience in training fighting buffalo. Furthermore, the two buffaloes were comparable in terms of strength and physique.

"Buffalo" number 04 displayed his best qualities at the most crucial moment: tenacity, resilience, and creativity. After 5 minutes and 30 seconds, "Buffalo" 04 tenaciously and bravely won the championship. This was a convincing victory for "Buffalo" number 04.

Buffalo 04 possesses exceptional qualities at crucial moments.

"Buffalo" No. 04 was purchased from Hai Duong on August 19, 2023. It has a bottle-shaped tail, clam-shaped hooves, two compartments, four swirls, black fur, and red eyes. Buffalo No. 04 measures 1.58m in height; 2.30m in length; 2.3m in chest circumference; 52cm in horn height; and 68cm in horn width.

Having brilliantly defeated buffalo number 07, the owner of buffalo number 04 received the flag and trophy for the first-place winner. In addition, the owner of buffalo number 04 also received a cash prize of 100 million VND from the Organizing Committee.

The Organizing Committee of the Do Son Buffalo Fighting Festival 2024 also awarded one second prize (60 million VND), two third prizes (30 million VND each), and two special prizes. These were for the best match and the buffalo with the best fighting technique, awarded to buffaloes number 13 and 14.

The organizers awarded the first prize to the owner of the winning buffalo, number 04.

According to the Festival Regulations, the wards whose buffaloes win first, second, or third prize will have one additional buffalo participating in the festival the following year, along with two fixed spots.

The 2024 Do Son Buffalo Fighting Festival was full of drama and surprises. In particular, in the very first match, buffalo number 15, owned by Luu Dinh Nam (whose buffalo won the 2023 buffalo fighting festival), unexpectedly ran away after only one minute of fighting against buffalo number 03, owned by Luu Dinh Dung.

With 15 matches involving 16 buffaloes participating in the festival, the audience was treated to spectacular and dramatic fights.

At this year's Do Son buffalo fighting festival, the local authorities and the Festival Organizing Committee continued to tighten security measures, arranging separate areas for slaughtering and selling buffalo meat. Simultaneously, they deployed surveillance forces to prevent the smuggling of buffalo meat from outside the festival to be sold alongside the meat from the fighting buffaloes.
