Partey faces additional rape charges. |
Thomas Partey appeared at Southwark Criminal Court in London for a hearing regarding new criminal charges. The Ghanaian international had previously denied five rape charges and one sexual assault charge. Now he faces two additional charges following a further investigation.
According to information from the UK Crown Prosecution Service, the new charges involve a different woman and were brought after London police expanded their investigation. The initial allegations were filed in August 2025, while the alleged acts are believed to have occurred between 2021 and 2022.
Partey has pleaded not guilty in previous hearings. His lawyer, Jenny Wiltshire, insists that her client has cooperated with authorities and will continue to defend his position denying all charges. As the case is still ongoing, the defense declined to comment further.
The official trial is scheduled for November 2nd. In the meantime, Partey's future playing remains in serious doubt, even though he is expected to be included in Ghana's plans for the 2026 World Cup.
Partey left Arsenal last June after his contract expired and subsequently joined Villarreal. However, complicated legal developments are casting a shadow over the midfielder's career, as the case continues to attract significant public attention.
