Speaking at the workshop, Mr. Dao Ngoc Chien, Director of the NAFOSTED Fund, said that from practical experience, it can be seen that Vietnam has many good initiatives, but they are scattered across many fields and localities. Currently, there is a lack of a central point to receive, evaluate, and connect them. In addition, there is no effective mechanism to transform initiatives into applied solutions, commercial products, or public policies.
Therefore, the establishment of the Science, Technology & Innovation Initiative Portal is not just a technological product, but a soft institution of the national innovation ecosystem; an open digital platform connecting three entities: initiative proposers – evaluation experts – receiving and utilizing organizations. At the same time, it is also an important tool to realize the spirit of the 2025 Law on encouraging nationwide innovation.
The Director of the NAFOSTED Fund emphasized the role of the Innovation Portal in receiving initiatives from all sectors of society, supporting objective and transparent evaluation, and linking initiatives to the practical needs of businesses, localities, and management agencies. At the same time, it plays a role in promoting intellectual property protection, application, and commercialization of valuable initiatives.

Mr. Dao Ngoc Chien expressed his belief that the Innovation Portal will be an effective bridge between research, application, and market; between the public and private sectors; and between domestic and international markets.
Representatives from the NAFOSTED Foundation expect that the Innovation Portal will not only be a place to register ideas, but also a space to nurture and enhance the value of innovations, inspire creativity, and lay the foundation for the future of national innovation.
The workshop introduced and clarified the role and function of the Innovation Portal, not only from a technical perspective but also at the national strategic level. Delegates exchanged experiences and practical lessons in receiving, evaluating, managing, and exploiting innovations. They also listened to the opinions of scientists , experts, and businesses to refine the portal's operational model for greater efficiency and effectiveness. Most importantly, the workshop aimed to foster a collaborative community to develop the Innovation Portal as a shared asset of Vietnam's innovation ecosystem.
