
Reporting on the results of Buddhist activities during the 2022-2026 term, Venerable Thach Sok Xane, Vice Chairman of the Executive Council and Head of the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Association in Vinh Long province, stated that after the administrative boundary merger, the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Association in Vinh Long province has a large geographical area and diverse sects, creating a rich and varied yet unified picture of Buddhist activities within the Vietnam Buddhist Association. Currently, the Executive Board of the Vinh Long Provincial Buddhist Association manages 755 temples and monasteries; 34 concentrated religious activity points; 5,425 monks and nuns; and over 805,000 Buddhist followers.
Throughout its history, Buddhism in Vinh Long province has clearly demonstrated its strong inheritance and promotion of the spirit of "Buddhism accompanying the nation." During the past term, alongside the work of organizing, managing, and maintaining the unity and development of local Buddhist affairs in a stable and sustainable manner, the social charity work of Buddhism in Vinh Long province has been widely implemented, with many practical programs aimed at the community, caring for the poor, those in difficult circumstances, and the vulnerable in society.
Charitable activities were regularly organized with many meaningful actions such as: awarding scholarships to poor but studious students; building houses for the needy; constructing bridges and rural roads; providing free medical examinations and medicine; supporting the poor and those in difficult circumstances, with the total value of social charity work during the term reaching over 805 billion VND.

Speaking at the Congress, Secretary of the Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee Tran Van Lau acknowledged and praised the achievements of the Provincial Buddhist Association in the past term. The Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee highly appreciated and expressed confidence that the Executive Board of the Provincial Buddhist Association would always play a bridging role in uniting the Buddhist Association with the government and the Vietnam Fatherland Front of the province, contributing to building national unity.
The Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Association in the province has made significant and comprehensive progress in many aspects of its work. In particular, monks, nuns, and Buddhist followers in the province have actively responded to patriotic emulation movements and campaigns launched by the Central Buddhist Association, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, political and social organizations, and local authorities; effectively participating in social welfare activities, charitable work, and the construction of new rural areas and civilized urban areas… making an important contribution to the overall development of the province.
These results are not only reflected in the growth figures regarding organizations, monks, monasteries, and missionary activities, but more importantly, they affirm the spirit of unity, harmony, responsibility, and national solidarity, vividly demonstrating the patriotic tradition and virtuous living of Buddhism accompanying the province's development.
The Secretary of the Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee expressed his hope and expectation that the Buddhist Church would further promote the spirit of unity and harmony, continue to be the nucleus for gathering wisdom and dedication, strengthen the connection between different sects and regions, and create a unified whole in diversity.
The Provincial Buddhist Association continues to promote humanistic values, compassion, and wisdom, spreading the spirit of living a good and virtuous life; strengthening social welfare and charitable activities, caring for the poor and those in difficult circumstances; working together to build a compassionate and civilized society; paying attention to preserving and promoting Buddhist cultural values in conjunction with preserving national cultural heritage; and combating manifestations of exploiting religion that affect security, order, and national unity.
The Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee, and the Provincial Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front always pay attention to and create favorable conditions for religious organizations, including the Vietnam Buddhist Association of the province, to operate in accordance with the law and promote the positive values of Buddhism for the goal of national development and the happiness of the people.

The Congress unanimously voted to approve the new Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Association of Vinh Long province, consisting of 105 members. Venerable Thach Sok Xane was re-elected by the Congress to continue serving as the Head of the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Association of Vinh Long province for the 2026-2031 term. The Congress agreed on the direction for the 2026-2031 term, with a harmonious combination of: Inheriting tradition - Stabilizing organization - Innovating governance - Sustainable development - Serving society. All Buddhist activities will be implemented based on the motto: "Buddhism - Nation - Socialism"; promoting in-depth charitable and social welfare activities, focusing on key programs such as: building bridges, houses for the needy, scholarships, proactively responding to natural disasters... with a minimum value of social charity work reaching 100 billion VND/year or more.
