The infrastructure and equipment at medical facilities in the province have been invested in a comprehensive and modern manner, better meeting the requirements for performing modern and specialized technical services. These include high-power laser lithotripsy machines, anesthesia machines with ventilators, automated blood and cell testing machines, digital X-ray machines, and ophthalmic microscopes. In 2025, the Health sector also purchased and handed over 8 hemodialysis machines and reverse osmosis (RO) water filtration systems to serve hemodialysis at the Provincial General Hospital and Than Uyên General Hospital. Currently, these devices have been put into use and are proving effective in providing healthcare to the people.
Determined to master advanced techniques in examination and treatment, the Provincial General Hospital has strengthened coordination with central-level hospitals to successfully transfer many new and advanced techniques; and promoted training and professional development to enhance the expertise of its medical staff, doctors, and technicians. Dr. Dao Viet Hung, Director of the Provincial General Hospital, stated: “The hospital regularly updates and receives technology transfer from central-level hospitals such as Bach Mai, E, Central Children's Hospital, and Hanoi National University… By 2025, we will implement over 100% of technical services according to the approved list of techniques by the Department of Health. In particular, we will implement hundreds of new, specialized techniques at the central level and continuously update with new, advanced techniques. Examples include: insulin quantification (blood); combined hemodialysis (HD) and hemoabsorption (HP) using blood adsorption devices; LEEP procedure; vertebral body reconstruction using biological cement injection…”

The Provincial General Hospital applies many new techniques in the examination and treatment of diseases.

Dr. Ha Trung Dung, Head of the Intensive Care and Toxicology Department (Provincial General Hospital), shared: "Whenever patients are in critical condition and require emergency care, we apply advanced techniques such as: cardiopulmonary resuscitation from basic to advanced levels; non-invasive or non-invasive mechanical ventilation; oral or nasal intubation; drainage of peritoneal, pleural, or pericardial effusions… Thanks to this, many patients are saved and treated promptly and have a chance of recovery."
The deployment of a large number of new techniques continues to affirm the professional capacity of the medical staff, gradually better meeting the increasingly high healthcare needs of the people. In 2025, the provincial health sector assessed and approved the addition of 2,353 technical procedures to the list of 6 public medical examination and treatment facilities. Notably, the rate of implementation of the technical procedures approved by the Department of Health by medical facilities all increased compared to the same period in 2024. Specifically: provincial-level hospitals reached 87.6%, an increase of 1.4%; regional general hospitals reached 94.6%, an increase of 2.4%; and commune health stations reached 85%, an increase of 6.7%.
By promoting the development of advanced techniques in hospitals, the quality of medical examination and treatment will be improved, bringing satisfaction to the people. By 2025, the entire sector is expected to provide medical examinations for 1,248,743 patients, an increase of 19,864 compared to the same period in 2024; of which 103,377 will be inpatients, exceeding the plan by 13.4%, an increase of 10,098 compared to the previous year; and the bed occupancy rate will reach 99.7%.
Ms. Ha Thi Huoi, 67 years old, from Lan village (Muong Than commune), currently receiving treatment at the Surgery Department of Than Uyen General Hospital, shared: "I suffered from high blood pressure, and during a critical period, the doctors provided emergency care and thrombolytic therapy, so there were no lasting effects. My health recovered well, and the costs were low because I benefited from health insurance. I am very grateful to the doctors and nurses of Than Uyen General Hospital."
Dr. Bui Tien Thanh, Director of the Department of Health and an Outstanding Physician, stated: To implement more advanced and specialized techniques, in addition to investing in facilities and equipment, the provincial health sector will continue to strengthen human resource training; implement training programs, technology transfer, and rotate medical staff for specialized training to improve the quality of human resources. At the same time, it will direct provincial-level medical facilities to effectively carry out the work of directing and transferring technology to lower-level units to help patients access the best medical services.
