Developing children's talents

In recent years, the trend of letting children participate in classes to develop their artistic and sports talents has become increasingly popular. Many parents realize that discovering and nurturing their children's talents early on not only helps them to satisfy their passions but also contributes to promoting their strengths, forming confidence and dynamism in the process of growing up.

Minh Phương has been passionate about dance since she was a child.

From a young age, Pham Minh Phuong, a 4th grade student at Nguyen Trai Primary School ( Yen Bai ward, Lao Cai province), showed a special talent for dance, performing, and fashion shows. Recognizing this passion, Phuong's family proactively enrolled her in talent development classes at a children's center.

"What I like most is modern dance, because it allows me to exercise and learn many new moves with my friends," Minh Phuong shared. Besides her regular school hours, she often practices at home, both to relieve stress and to hone her performance skills.

Minh Phuong's mother, Phuong Thanh, said: "I want to create opportunities for my child to relax after stressful school hours. Learning to dance helps her become more active, agile, and lively." For her, it's not just an art class, but also a time for her child to live true to her interests and personality.

Like Minh Phuong, Vu Ngoc Thanh Tra, a 5th-grade student at Nguyen Trai Primary School, also showed a passion for singing and fashion modeling from a young age. After her family enrolled her in talent classes, Thanh Tra quickly progressed and regularly performed at cultural and artistic events at her school and in the local area.

"I'm so happy to sing, dance, and perform on stage. Every time I stand under the lights, I feel much more confident," said Thanh Tra.

According to Ms. Nguy Thi Hang Nga, Thanh Tra's mother, enrolling her child in extracurricular classes has brought about many positive changes: "My child is more active and lively, and her ability to concentrate in her studies has improved significantly. Learning art helps her learn how to express her emotions, increases her self-confidence, and fosters a spirit of cooperation with her friends."

Parents are not only investing in artistic talents, but also increasingly choosing sports like table tennis, swimming, badminton, and football for their children. Through each training session, children not only improve their physical fitness and agility, but also learn discipline, self-confidence, and quick problem-solving skills.

At the Pho Rang Table Tennis Club in Bao Yen commune, for over a decade, the rhythmic sound of the ball bouncing has become a familiar sound to many children in the area. The club currently has nearly 20 members, including 12 teenagers and children. Under the dedicated guidance of Mr. Vu Ngoc Thanh, the club's chairman, many children have discovered their passion and developed perseverance and resilience.

Mr. Vu Ngoc Thanh shared: “Table tennis is a sport that requires perseverance and strategic thinking. Children must diligently and tirelessly practice to improve their health, eye-hand coordination, and reflexes. This will help them become more perceptive in their studies and in life.”

For Bui Hai Dang, a member of the club, table tennis is not only his favorite sport but also a companion that helps him become more confident every day. "After playing this sport for a while, I feel healthier, my reflexes are faster, and I can do more difficult things than before," Hai Dang shared.

To meet the needs of children in developing their talents, many art and sports classes have recently been opened at centers, cultural houses, and children's clubs in various communes and wards. These diverse classes, such as dance, singing, drawing, music, martial arts, and football, attract a large number of students.

Discovering talents from a young age helps children confidently shine.

These classes not only help students develop their strengths and nurture their passions, but also provide a healthy environment for practicing communication skills, teamwork, and self-confidence.

Ms. Phuong Mai, a teacher at the Practice Kindergarten (Yen Bai Ward), believes that discovering and nurturing artistic talent in children from an early age is especially important. “At the kindergarten and primary school age, children have the ability to learn very quickly and possess rich imaginations. If guided correctly, this will be a solid foundation for cultivating artistic talent and developing a well-rounded personality,” Ms. Phuong Mai stated.

As living standards improve, children have more opportunities to study and pursue their interests. Early exposure to art and sports helps them develop aesthetic sense, cultivate perseverance, and appreciate beauty in life. They become confident, happy, and able to live their dreams to the fullest.
