On the morning of December 19, the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 officially opened at Gia Lam military airport, Hanoi.

One of the pilots who performed the most impressive gesture in the salute was Lieutenant Colonel pilot Nguyen The Dung, political commissar of Division 371, Air Defense - Air Force.

Together with his teammates, he successfully completed the mission of flying to welcome the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 on the "king cobra" Su30-MK2 fighter jets, Lieutenant Colonel Dung was still filled with joy and pride.

"My brothers and I, my teammates, are very happy and excited because we have successfully completed the mission of the welcome flight and met the trust and confidence of the leaders at all levels," said Lieutenant Colonel Dung.

Lieutenant Colonel Dung shared in the enthusiastic atmosphere of the entire army and people and received encouragement from leaders at all levels, from the Minister of National Defense to the heads of military branches, divisions, pilots, technical support staff, mechanics, radar information, meteorology, logistics... very excited to have successfully completed the assigned tasks.

This is also a welcome from the Air Force, Air Defense - Air Force contributing to the atmosphere of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army, 35th anniversary of National Defense Day.

Speaking more specifically about his flight, Lieutenant Colonel Dung said that in today's opening ceremony, he performed 4 rounds of drilling and released 96 chaff shells, double the number of chaff shells compared to the rehearsal.

"Starting to enter the ceremony area, I focused on the key movements, turned on the power boost to increase acceleration and pull the plane vertically, while firing chaff and rotating many times in the air," said Lieutenant Colonel Dung.

Lieutenant Colonel Dung said that he and his teammates tried their best to make the movements as standard and best as possible and to create the most beautiful flying and lighting effects.
