What kind of headphones did astronauts wear when they went to the Moon?

NASA astronaut Jessica Meir shared a video of herself working out on the International Space Station (ISS) wearing AirPods.

Besides the iPhone 17 Pro Max used to photograph Earth during the Artemis II mission, AirPods are also the most useful companion device for astronauts on the International Space Station (ISS).

This piece of technology appeared in the latest video shared by NASA astronaut Jessica Meir about her physical training process on the ISS.

In the noisy environment of life support systems and floating at speeds exceeding 28,000 km/h, the device the female astronaut trusted for listening to music was a familiar pair of AirPods.

Interestingly, the fear of "losing your AirPods" during strenuous activity on the ground is completely eliminated on the ISS. Thanks to the zero-gravity environment eliminating physical drag, the earbuds stay securely and safely in the astronauts' ears, even during somersaults in mid-air.

In a microgravity environment, muscles and bones are not supported by weight and quickly atrophy, while cardiovascular health deteriorates significantly. Therefore, astronauts must also exercise regularly to avoid the negative effects of sitting for long periods.

"Without regular exercise, we will lose significant muscle mass and bone density," said Jessica Meir.

Hoping to prevent this decline, NASA provided exercise equipment to the space station in the 1990s. Astronauts began exercising diligently and slowly for several hours each day, adjusting their pace to avoid injury and fatigue.
