A strong cold front is coming to the North.

The meteorological agency warns that from January 20th to 25th, a cold front from the Northeast will sweep into the North, causing severe cold weather, even frost, in the North and Central regions.

According to the National Center for Meteorological and Hydrological Forecasting, over the past 2-3 days, temperatures in the North and Central regions have risen again after a series of sharp drops. Temperatures in Hanoi have increased by about 2-4 degrees Celsius, with cold nights and mornings (lowest temperatures 14-15 degrees Celsius). This weather pattern is expected to continue until January 19th.

However, information from the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology ( Ministry of Agriculture and Environment ) indicates that from the afternoon of January 20th to January 21st, a strong northeast monsoon will occur in the North, potentially causing cold rain. From January 21st to 25th, the North is likely to experience severe cold, with frost in mountainous areas.

In Central Vietnam, from January 18th to 20th, it will generally be dry with sunny days. The area from Thanh Hoa to Hue City will experience cold nights and mornings. From January 21st to 23rd, the area from Quang Tri to Quang Ngai will have rain and showers due to the influence of a strong Northeast monsoon. From January 24th to 25th, the weather in Central Vietnam will be more stable with less rain. The area from Thanh Hoa to Hue City will continue to be cold, with some areas in the north experiencing severe cold.

According to the National Center for Meteorological and Hydrological Forecasting, from January 18th to 25th, the Central Highlands and Southern Vietnam will generally experience no rain, sunny days, and light fog in the mornings. The Central Highlands, in particular, will experience cold weather at night and in the mornings.
