On September 25th, Save the Children (SCI), in collaboration with the Lawyers' Branch of the Ho Chi Minh City Association for the Protection of Children's Rights, visited Phuoc Loc Secondary School to raise awareness about saying no to child labor exploitation and abuse. This is one of the activities within SCI's "Prevention and Reduction of Child Labor" project.
Lawyer Tran Thi Ngoc Nu, Head of the Lawyers' Branch of the Association for the Protection of Children's Rights in Ho Chi Minh City, participated in the mock trial with the students.

The mock trial recreates common situations of child labor exploitation and abuse. Through the trial, lessons are learned, and students gain a clearer understanding of the importance of education. At the same time, students learn how to prevent and protect themselves from harmful individuals.
Mr. Nguyen Lu Gia, a member of SCI, stated that the family is the steel shield protecting children. Adults have a responsibility to identify and support children at risk of dropping out of school to engage in illegal labor. Furthermore, the activity helps raise awareness and responsibility among schools and society in implementing children's rights, the right to protection, and the right to education.
Nearly 500 students watched the mock trial.
A mock trial is a vivid and engaging form of legal education, with content drawn from actual cases that have been tried.
Changing the traditional method of legal education by conducting mock trials has made students more interested. This is a visual and engaging way to educate them about the law.
"The mock trials are based on real cases; some details regarding the individuals involved and the case circumstances are modified to suit the content and target audience of the propaganda," Mr. Gia explained.
