The teaser opens with the scene of Hao (played by Tin Nguyen) being interrogated at the police station. The constant questions from the investigating officer are like a blow to the psyche, making Hao's face even more wrinkled, and tears of regret also fall.
Each of those expressions aroused curiosity in the audience: What exactly happened at her mother's birthday party?
Gradually, everything was revealed through Hao’s testimony: gangsters threatened his family, his mother suddenly had a stroke… The sudden events caused Hao to fall into a state of panic, leading to the decision to participate in a wrongful plan. But why, even when he knew it was a crazy plan, Hao still affirmed: “If I were you, I would do the same”?
Also attracting attention in the teaser is the appearance of the character Sac Lo Tinh - the first film role of artist Thanh Hoi. He appeared right after Hao mentioned "threatening gangsters", with a cold gaze and the action of pointing a stick at a character's face. Could this be a notorious gangster boss, in control of a notorious group of underlings?
Meanwhile, the character of Mrs. Tam (played by artist Ai Nhu) also only appeared briefly but left a strong impression. She appeared right after Hao's words, her eyes silently filled with tears, her helpless gaze seemed to sympathize with her daughter. Behind her was a hazy halo, evoking a sense of sacredness.
The appearance of the character Doctor Tai (Samuel An) with a syringe in his hand and then the image of Hao - Duc in mourning clothes also raised many questions.
Mother's Birthday revolves around an urban family where expectations of success and social norms have unintentionally become a pressure that weighs heavily on each generation.
A series of tragicomic events took place on the mother's birthday, which should have been a warm reunion, but instead became a "battlefield" for long-accumulated conflicts.
In addition to two veteran stage artists, Ai Nhu and Thanh Hoi, Pha Dang: Mother's Birthday also made a strong impression when it gathered famous and talented actors, including: Tran Kim Hai, Tin Nguyen, Samuel An, Hong Anh, Thanh Hoi, Be Sam, Hoang Phi, Meritorious Artist Huu Chau, Huy Khanh, Ngoc Son.
The film is scheduled to premiere on September 12.
