The film is adapted from the 1992 novel of the same name by Alasdair Gray. The story is about a woman named Bella Baxter, who was resurrected by a scientist after committing suicide. Her brain was replaced with the brain of her unborn child.
With the mind of a child in an adult's body, Bella Baxter goes through a tumultuous school year, runs away with a shabby lawyer, and gets involved in a series of cases...
Meanwhile, the British film “The Zone of Interest” beat out other strong contenders from Italy, Japan, Spain and Germany to be honored in the category of “Outstanding International Film.” This is the first time in history that a British film has won this category of the Oscar. The film was directed by British director Jonathan Glazer, inspired by the novel of the same name by Martin Amis.
The film is set in the 1940s, revolving around the life of the family of the commander of the Auschwitz concentration camp in Poland, using the theme of genocide to condemn human indifference.
