(NLDO) - Mr. Mai Ngoc Thuan, Vice Chairman of the People's Council of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, has submitted a request to resign from his positions and retire from work from March 2025.


Recently, Mr. Mai Ngoc Thuan, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Party Delegation, Vice Chairman of the People's Council of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, submitted a resignation letter to the Provincial Party Standing Committee and related units.

In the petition, Mr. Thuan wishes to resign from the Provincial Party Executive Committee and the Provincial Party Standing Committee for the 2020-2025 term; resign from the position of Deputy Secretary of the Party Delegation, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council for the 2021-2026 term and retire from work.

The reason for his resignation, Mr. Thuan said that according to regulations, he is still old enough to be re-elected as Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council for the 2026-2031 term, but his working time is not enough for a full term. On the other hand, the entire political system in general and agencies, organizations and units in the province in particular are focusing on implementing the arrangement and streamlining of the organizational apparatus in conjunction with staff reduction according to the Party's major policy to restructure and improve the quality of the team; improve the effectiveness of state management...

Therefore, in order to facilitate the arrangement and creation of conditions for young cadres with full terms of office to be introduced for candidacy, re-election, and appointment, Mr. Mai Ngoc Thuan voluntarily asked to resign from work from March 15, 2025.

However, according to Mr. Mai Ngoc Thuan, if the province needs his participation and contribution in building and completing the projects he is implementing, including: Project on Researching Free Trade Zones associated with Seaports in Cai Mep Ha area; Project on piloting a number of mechanisms and policies for the development of Con Dao district; Project on continuing to develop and modernize Cai Mep - Thi Vai international gateway port into the largest international transit port in the country, with regional and international stature, or other research and strategic tasks, Mr. Thuan is ready to participate and contribute.

It is known that Mr. Mai Ngoc Thuan's petition has been sent to the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, the Organizing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, and the Party Delegation of the People's Council of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province.

Mr. Mai Ngoc Thuan, born on July 2, 1966 in Dat Do town, Dat Do district (now Long Dat district), Ba Ria - Vung Tau province. He has a degree in Economic Engineer, Senior Political Theory, Senior State Management Specialist.
