(NLĐO) - Mr. Mai Ngoc Thuan, Vice Chairman of the People's Council of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, has submitted a request to resign from his positions and retire from work effective March 2025.
Recently, Mr. Mai Ngoc Thuan, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Party Group, and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, submitted a letter requesting to resign from his position and retire from work to the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and relevant units.
In his resignation letter, Mr. Thuan expressed his wish to resign from the Provincial Party Committee Executive Board and the Provincial Party Standing Committee for the 2020-2025 term; to relinquish his positions as Deputy Secretary of the Party Group and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council for the 2021-2026 term; and to retire from his duties.

Regarding his resignation, Mr. Thuan stated that according to regulations, he is still eligible for re-election as Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council for the 2026-2031 term, but his term would not be a full term. Furthermore, the entire political system in general, and agencies and organizations in the province in particular, are currently focusing on streamlining organizational structures and reducing staffing levels in accordance with the Party's major policy to restructure and improve the quality of the workforce; and enhance the effectiveness of state management…
Therefore, in order to facilitate the arrangement and create conditions for young officials with sufficient term of service to be nominated, re-elected, or appointed, Mr. Mai Ngoc Thuan voluntarily requests to retire from his position effective March 15, 2025.
However, according to Mr. Mai Ngoc Thuan, if the province needs his participation and contribution in building and perfecting the projects he is currently working on, including: the Project on Researching a Free Trade Zone Associated with a Seaport in the Cai Mep Ha area; the Project on Piloting Some Mechanisms and Policies for the Development of Con Dao District; the Project on Continuing the Development and Modernization of the Cai Mep - Thi Vai International Gateway Port into the largest international transshipment port in the country, with regional, Asian and international stature, or other research and strategic tasks, Mr. Thuan is ready to participate and contribute.
It is understood that Mr. Mai Ngoc Thuan's petition has been sent to the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, the Executive Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Department, and the Party Group of the Provincial People's Council of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province.
Mr. Mai Ngoc Thuan was born on July 2, 1966, in Dat Do town, Dat Do district (now Long Dat district), Ba Ria - Vung Tau province. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Economic Engineering , a Senior Certificate in Political Theory, and is a senior specialist in State Management.
