On the afternoon of June 5, the provincial delegation led by Mr. Nguyen Trung Thao, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, was the leader to inspect the decline in surface water in some reservoirs and dams. in the area of 6 districts: Nguyen Binh, Hoa An, Ha Quang. Accompanying were leaders of a number of departments and branches and the Aquaculture One Member Limited Liability Company.
Inspection team of Thom Luong lake, Minh Tam commune (Nguyen Binh); Na Lau pumping station, Hong Viet commune and Na Tau lake, Nuoc Hai town (Hoa An); Ban Nua lake, Ngoc Dao commune (Ha Quang).
Thom Luong lake, Minh Tam commune has a capacity of 200.000 cubic meters of water, pumping water to serve fresh pepper for 33 hectares of land for rice, corn and crops of the commune. Currently, the water level in the lake is below the dead water level, reaching 10% of the design capacity. According to the commune People's Committee, due to the impact of drought, up to now, 108/310 ha of corn and rice have been damaged. It is forecasted that if there is no rain in the next few days, the lake will run out of water.
Na Lau pumping station, Hong Viet commune, serves to irrigate over 83 hectares of spring rice and other crops of the commune and some neighboring communes of the city with 3 pumps, each with a capacity of 150 m3/hour. Currently, the pumping station is only operating at about 25% of its capacity due to a shortage of water, not meeting the design capacity and irrigation needs.
The situation of Ban Nua lake, Ngoc Dao commune and Na Tau lake, Nuoc Hai town lack of irrigation water for agricultural production is similar. Accordingly, Ban Nua lake has a capacity of 980.000 m3, currently the water level in the lake is only 4 m away from the dead water level; If the drought persists, it will not guarantee water for the upcoming crop of 3 hamlets in Ngoc Dao commune. Na Tau Lake at this time has a very low water capacity, only about 14% of the design capacity, according to the authorities, the lake's water level has never been as low as it is now.
At the inspection points, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Trung Thao suggested that the pumping stations and the Hydroponic One Member Company Limited need to strengthen the dredging of the suction tanks, the channels leading to the pumping stations, and the repair and maintenance of the pumps. ; operate pumping stations, regulate and distribute irrigation water reasonably in order to promote the efficiency of water sources for production. For water reservoir works, Irrigation One Member Limited Liability Company actively regulates the appropriate water source for irrigation, deploys rotational irrigation and saves water; Local authorities need to issue warnings for areas where water is not guaranteed, notify people to use water economically and effectively, and promptly change the crop structure accordingly.
Districts and cities need to have their own plans to cope with drought in accordance with the local situation such as: mobilizing people to participate in dredging canals, clearing flows; building a flexible watering schedule suitable for each locality; Governments at all levels are interested in supporting organizations and individuals to invest in building small irrigation systems, in-field irrigation to make the most of water sources for agricultural production.
After the inspection, the Provincial People's Committee will hold a meeting to discuss, agree and propose both immediate and long-term measures to ensure the supply of irrigation water for agricultural production, minimizing the damage caused by drought for crops in the province.
