On the afternoon of August 14, Mr. Nguyen Huu Thap - Provincial Member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee worked with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to discuss solutions to overcome shortcomings, difficulties and problems and implement other tasks. key services and solutions to well accomplish the goals and tasks of the province's Agriculture and rural development sector in the coming time.

According to the report at the meeting, from the beginning of 2023 up to now, units and localities have planted 1.078,74 ha of forest (reaching 26,97% of the plan in 2023); planted 3,27ha of Ngoc Linh ginseng, bringing the total area of Ngoc Linh ginseng in the province to 1.787,27ha (reaching 79,75% of the plan); 600,3ha of other medicinal plants (reaching 66,7% of the plan); 1.088,2 ha of fruit trees (98,93% of the plan); 839,33ha of macadamia trees (reaching 83,93% of the plan); the total herd of cattle reached 269.706 heads; total aquaculture area is about 841ha, total aquatic production is estimated at 3.295 tons; forest coverage is over 63,05%; the rate of rural population in the province using hygienic water reached 92,5%; 188 OCOP products with 3 to 5 stars (still valid), including 1 5-star product, 6 potential 5-star products are proposed to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development for evaluation, 16 products 4 stars and 165 3-star products; 42 communes meet the new rural commune standard, 4 communes meet the new advanced rural commune standard and 24 ethnic minority villages (villages) meet the new rural standards.
At the meeting, representatives of units and localities discussed, raised problems and difficulties and proposed solutions to solve the problem in order to successfully complete the assigned tasks and objectives of the provincial agricultural sector. in 2023 and up to 2025.

Concluding the meeting, Mr. Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huu Thap acknowledged the efforts of the Agriculture and Rural Development sector in implementing tasks from the beginning of the year until now. He suggested that in the remaining months of 2023, the Agriculture and Rural Development branch of the province would continue to effectively organize the implementation of the targets set by the sector; have specific solutions and plans and strengthen coordination with relevant localities and units to focus on implementing the targets in the 2021-2025 term, focusing on targets on afforestation, development the area of Ngoc Linh ginseng and other medicinal plants, the total herd of buffaloes and cows, the construction of new rural areas, the One Commune One Product Program (OCOP) and the promotion of attracting investment in developing hi-tech agriculture associated with with the processing industry and product consumption.
