Ms. Vo Thi Thanh Phuc said that, recognizing the significant consumer demand, her family decided to invest in building a facility to produce pure rice noodles to supply the market in early 2022. After a short period of operation, Ms. Phuc's facility registered with the Huong An town government to participate in the OCOP program with her Thanh Phuc rice noodles product.
Over the past period, Ms. Phuc's establishment has been facilitated by specialized departments of Que Son district and local authorities to attend training courses related to the OCOP process, and supported in establishing the necessary documents and procedures to participate in the evaluation and classification of OCOP products.
Notably, after constructing the workshop and installing production equipment at a cost of 250 million VND, Ms. Phuc's facility received post-investment support of 125 million VND from the relevant authorities of Que Son district and the People's Committee of Huong An town, in accordance with the provincial policy.
“Thanks to guaranteed quality and meeting all regulatory requirements, Thanh Phuc rice noodles were recognized as a 3-star OCOP product by the Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee in 2022. This is a great motivation for our facility to continue investing in expanding production scale and focusing on improving product quality,” Ms. Phuc shared.
Ms. Phuc further explained that to ensure a supply of raw materials for rice noodle production, she proactively collaborates with seven local farmers to sow 50 acres of Khang Dan 18 commercial rice each season under a guaranteed purchase agreement. In addition, she purchases rice from other local farmers after each harvest.
Since being recognized as a 3-star OCOP product, thanks to a focus on promoting trade and advertising, Thanh Phuc's rice noodle market has continuously expanded. Currently, Ms. Phuc's business has dozens of medium and large-scale stores and distributors supplying rice noodles in the provinces of Quang Nam, Dak Lak , Lam Dong, etc.
"In 2022, we sold an average of about 1.8 tons of finished rice noodles per month, earning 72 million VND. Now, that has increased to 3 tons per month, with revenue reaching 120 million VND, and a net profit of about 30 million VND per month," said Ms. Phuc.
