Women in Thanh Hoa learn from and follow President Ho Chi Minh's teachings.

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - During his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh emphasized, "The beautiful land of Vietnam is woven and embroidered by our women, young and old, making it even more beautiful and radiant." These words, along with the tradition of "heroism, indomitability, loyalty, and resourcefulness" of Vietnamese women in the journey of nation-building and national defense, have become the driving force for Thanh Hoa women to continue striving and contributing to building the image of "Thanh Hoa women of the new era: patriotic, self-reliant, self-strengthening, and aspiring to rise."

Women in Thanh Hoa learn from and follow President Ho Chi Minh's teachings.

Chairperson of the Provincial Women's Union Ngo Thi Hong Hao and godmother Nguyen Thi Hong Lien visit Pham Cao Khanh Na.

Sung Thi Xe and Sung Thi Lau, two sisters from Nhi Son commune (Muong Lat district), had worked in many places but still couldn't find a stable trade. Each time they took a bus to Hanoi , Thanh Hoa City, etc., to look for work, it was a long and arduous journey for these two girls from the highlands. Fortunately, when they heard from the commune's women's association officials about a 6-month hairdressing training course at the Provincial Women's Union, which was free of charge, both sisters registered. Throughout this time, they diligently studied. Once they had basic knowledge, they also took advantage of weekends to work at a hair salon to gain experience; and participated in some activities such as cutting hair for students and the elderly in border areas as part of the "Accompanying Border Women" program...

After the course, the two sisters joined the "Self-Reliance for Economic Development" group established by the Provincial Women's Union. The group has 5 members, with Xế as the group leader. The Provincial Women's Union provided them with hairdressing equipment, including wigs, cosmetics, and tools, worth 30 million VND, to start their business in their hometown. With the support from the Provincial Women's Union and their savings, Xế opened a hair salon and beauty care business for local women. She also created jobs for several women who came to learn the trade and introduced them to work at other salons.

Pham Cao Khanh Na and her older sister Pham Cao Khanh Le, from Mo village, My Tan commune (Ngoc Lac district), were orphaned at a very young age. The two sisters live with their grandmother, facing difficult circumstances, but the three of them always strive to overcome hardship. Moved by their plight, the Women's Union at all levels connected them, and Na became one of 10 disadvantaged orphans sponsored by Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Lien, Director of Da Lan Joint Stock Company, since 2021. Each month, she receives 500,000 VND from the company. This support has eased the family's difficulties and motivated the three of them to strive for a better life...

These are just two of the thousands of things that officials, members, and women's union organizations at all levels throughout the province have been doing. Every activity and movement of the union is always focused on the grassroots, on members, and on women in difficult circumstances.

Continuing to promote the study and emulation of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style, women in Thanh Hoa have concretized this through small but socially significant actions in their lives, demonstrating humanity, kindness, compassion, and responsibility. These include providing labor, livestock, fertilizer, and interest-free loans; supporting vocational training and job creation; donating homes of compassion; practicing thrift and lifelong learning; participating in tree planting and environmental protection activities; maintaining good health; connecting with and sponsoring orphaned children and supporting livelihood models; preserving and promoting good traditional values; and building a civilized way of life.

According to statistics from the Provincial Women's Union, through learning from and following President Ho Chi Minh's example, in 2024 alone, the various levels of the Women's Union registered and implemented 1,260 tasks/activities for building new rural areas; mobilized households to donate nearly 45,000 m2 of land and 712 m2 of fences to build village cultural houses and expand rural roads; supported more than 13,000 families to meet the criteria of "Families with 5 no's and 3 clean's" and "Families with 5 yes's and 3 clean's"; assisted more than 16,200 poor and near-poor households through various forms, worth over 14 billion VND; donated 215 breeding cows/buffaloes worth over 1.2 billion VND; the Provincial Women's Union connected with banks, microfinance organizations, and TYM Thanh Hoa branch to provide loans for nearly 200,000 members to develop their businesses. They coordinated the transfer of science and technology to nearly 40,000 women, and provided vocational training and job placement for nearly 5,000 women.

In addition, the association has implemented many social welfare programs, which have been recognized and highly appreciated by the Party Committee and the government, creating a ripple effect in the community, such as: the "Accompanying Women in Border Areas" program, "From Collecting Scrap to Millions of Gifts", "Godmother" program... To date, the association at all levels has mobilized and sponsored more than 2,200 orphans with a total budget of over 8.5 billion VND/year; distributed nearly 17,000 gifts to poor women and children worth nearly 6.5 billion VND from the "Millions of Gifts Sharing Love" and "From Collecting Scrap to Millions of Gifts" programs; and mobilized resources to build and repair 83 "shelters of love" worth more than 3.1 billion VND...

According to the Chairwoman of the Provincial Women's Union, Ngo Thi Hong Hao: Continuing to uphold the fine traditions of Vietnamese women and the women of the heroic homeland of Ba Trieu in carrying out tasks and emulation movements, nearly 18,000 women in Thanh Hoa have achieved the title of "Outstanding Woman" in emulation movements; more than 6,000 exemplary individuals have been commended and rewarded in various fields, including studying and following the ideology, ethics, and style of Ho Chi Minh. In 2025, the Provincial Women's Union launched a special emulation campaign with 6 projects and tasks on a province-wide scale to achieve accomplishments to celebrate major holidays of the province and the country, and to report achievements to President Ho Chi Minh on September 2nd.
