Two sisters, Sung Thi Xe and Sung Thi Lau in Nhi Son commune (Muong Lat), used to work for hire in many places but still could not learn a stable job. Every time they took a bus to Hanoi , Thanh Hoa city... to find a job was a long and difficult story for the two girls from the highlands. Fortunately, when they heard the commune women's union cadre introduce them to join a hairdressing class at the provincial Women's Union for 6 months without having to pay tuition, both sisters registered to participate. During this time, the two sisters studied diligently. When they had basic knowledge, the two sisters also took advantage of the weekends to work at a hair salon to gain experience; participated in some hair cutting activities for students and the elderly in the border area in the program "Accompanying women in the border areas"...
After the course, the two sisters joined the group “Self-helping each other to develop the economy ” established by the Provincial Women’s Union. The group has 5 members, Xe is the group leader and was supported by the Provincial Women’s Union with hair industry equipment including: wigs, cosmetics, tools... worth 30 million VND to start a business in her hometown. With the support of the Provincial Women’s Union and accumulated resources, Xe opened a hair salon and beauty care for local women. She also created jobs for some women who came to learn the trade and introduced them to work at other salons.
Pham Cao Khanh Na and her sister Pham Cao Khanh Le in Mo village, My Tan commune (Ngoc Lac) lost their parents when they were very young. Na and her sister lived with their grandmother. Life was very difficult, but the three of them always tried and made efforts to overcome difficulties. Sympathizing with the children's situation, the Women's Union at all levels connected so that Na was one of 10 orphans in difficult circumstances that her mother Nguyen Thi Hong Lien, Director of Da Lan Joint Stock Company, adopted in 2021. Each month, she received 500,000 VND from the company. This source of support has reduced the family's difficulties, creating motivation for the three of them to rise up in life...
These are two of thousands of things that cadres, members and organizations of the Women's Union at all levels in the province have been doing. Every activity and movement of the union always focuses on the grassroots, on members and women in difficulty.
Continuing to promote the study and practice of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style, Thanh Hoa women have concretized it through small but meaningful actions in life, demonstrating humanity, kindness, affection and responsibility. According to statistics of the Provincial Women's Union, from studying and following Uncle Ho, in 2024 alone, all levels of the union registered and carried out 1,260 tasks/activities of new rural construction; mobilized households to donate nearly 45,000m2 of land, 712m2 of fences to build village cultural houses, expand rural roads; supported more than 13,000 families to meet the criteria of "Family of 5 no, 3 clean", "Family of 5 yes, 3 clean"; helped more than 16,200 poor and near-poor households in many forms, worth over 14 billion VND; awarded 215 breeding cows/buffaloes worth over 1.2 billion VND; The Provincial Women's Union connected with banks, Microfinance Institutions, TYM Thanh Hoa branch to provide nearly 200,000 members with loans for economic development; Coordinated the transfer of science and technology to nearly 40,000 women, provided vocational training and introduced jobs to nearly 5,000 women.
In addition, the association also carries out many social security programs, which are highly appreciated by the Party Committee and the government, creating a widespread impact in the community such as: "Accompanying women in the border areas", "From collecting scrap to millions of gifts", "Godmother"... Up to now, the association at all levels has mobilized and sponsored more than 2,200 orphans with a total budget of over 8.5 billion VND/year; awarded nearly 17,000 gifts to poor women and children worth nearly 6.5 billion VND from the program "Millions of gifts to share love", "From collecting scrap to millions of gifts"; mobilized to build and repair 83 "homes of love" worth more than 3.1 billion VND...
Chairwoman of the Provincial Women's Union Ngo Thi Hong Hao said: Continuing to promote the fine traditions of Vietnamese women, women of the heroic homeland of Ba Trieu in carrying out tasks and emulation movements, Thanh Hoa women have had nearly 18,000 women achieving the title of "Outstanding Women" in carrying out emulation movements; more than 6,000 typical examples were commended and rewarded in various fields, including studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style. In 2025, the Provincial Women's Union launched a special emulation campaign with 6 projects and tasks on a province-wide scale to make achievements to celebrate major holidays of the province and the country and report to Uncle Ho on September 2.
