According to the scientific dossier honoring this heritage, "Knowledge of Coffee Cultivation and Processing in Dak Lak" is identified from traditional values associated with the profession closely linked to and accompanying coffee - from cultivation methods, care, harvesting to processing and enjoyment...
All of this has created a distinct and rich cultural space for the residents and communities who live and breathe coffee in Dak Lak. And it is within this space that the essence of this heritage has inspired creativity in art in general and cuisine in particular in this basaltic land, allowing it to continuously flourish and spread.
In other words, the aforementioned knowledge, along with the new values generated and enriched from the "chronicles" of this specialty crop, from tradition to modernity, has created a truly distinct and rich "coffee culture spectrum."
It can be said that, in order for this heritage to be recognized, coffee producers, roasters, processors, and businesses involved in this industry have strived to build and shape the cultural value of coffee step by step from many different perspectives, with the common goal of letting the aroma of Dak Lak coffee spread further and create a lasting impression on everyone.
It's worth remembering that, starting from the 3rd Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival in 2011, the concept of "coffee culture" was first mentioned, and since then, those interested in this issue have consistently strived to clearly define this relatively new concept.
Attending the festival, many people commented that the picture of coffee culture is formed from very unique and distinctive features of the land known as the "coffee capital" of the country, through the daily lives of the local residents.
To establish and promote that cultural value must begin with the lives of those who directly produce the coffee beans, because they are the subjects in the process of shaping the coffee culture here.

Sharing this idea, many experts, scientists, and managers believe that when people talk about Dak Lak's coffee culture, they should immediately think of the differences between the lives of coffee farmers and those who grow rice or fruit trees...
Ultimately, the local people's knowledge of coffee cultivation, care, harvesting, processing, and enjoyment inherently contains unique cultural elements that cannot be confused with those of any other region in the country.
More accurately, cultural values have emerged from the real-life experiences of coffee producers, and these cultural elements, in turn, have a positive and enriching impact on their lives.
From that perspective, through the recently held coffee festivals, the subjects of this cultural value have always shown interest in and appreciation, opening up more opportunities for Dak Lak coffee to affirm its position in the economic, social, and especially cultural life of the locality.
Once recognized as a heritage site, the cultural values of coffee here naturally become valuable resources/assets for those who possess the heritage to exploit and promote. Especially in the field of tourism development, visitors come here – from the plantations, roasting and processing facilities to the coffee shops serving the needs of experiencing, learning about, and enjoying that captivating flavor… creating a unique cultural space. Within that space, many believe that the newly recognized intangible cultural heritage has begun to spread strongly, leaving a deep impression on everyone.
