According to statistics, the Department of Construction currently manages 249 enterprises, 14 cooperatives, and 60 transport service businesses with 2,392 vehicles of various types. The total number of currently operating transport routes is 145, including 138 inter-provincial routes and 7 intra-provincial routes.
Due to the impact of the conflict in the Middle East, domestic gasoline and diesel prices have been constantly fluctuating upwards. When fuel prices rise, transportation businesses in the area are most significantly affected. This has led many businesses to consider adjusting service prices to ensure stable operations.
According to information from the Department of Construction, as of March 13, 2026, no transportation company in the province has increased its service prices compared to the listed prices; currently, the department has only received one notification regarding a price adjustment for passenger transportation services by taxi from HGV Transportation and Import-Export Joint Stock Company (requesting a 25% increase compared to the current price). |
In response to this situation, relevant departments and agencies have intensified efforts to gather information and control measures to ensure that unreasonable price increases do not occur, affecting the rights of the people. Accordingly, in implementing document No. 1289, dated March 10, 2026, from the Vietnam Road Administration regarding the reporting and assessment of the impact of conflicts in the Middle East on road transport, the Department of Construction has proactively implemented various measures to monitor and assess the impact in order to stabilize road transport operations in the province.
Ms. Tran Bich Diep, Head of the Transport and Traffic Safety Department of the Department of Construction, stated: The department has advised the Department to issue document No. 888, dated March 13, 2026, to transport service businesses regarding strengthening measures to stabilize business operations when fuel prices fluctuate. Simultaneously, businesses are advised to review and revise their production and business plans, considering input costs to adjust their operational plans accordingly, with the aim of minimizing fare increases and striving to maintain stable transport rates to share the difficulties with the people and contribute to stabilizing the transport market. Furthermore, when businesses submit proposals for fare adjustments, the Department strictly checks and evaluates the proposed increase before approval to ensure it is reasonable and in accordance with regulations. In addition, the department reviews and updates fuel prices and transportation fares daily to keep abreast of market conditions and promptly coordinate inspections and take action when violations are detected.
With close monitoring from specialized agencies, transportation businesses in the province are also proactively adapting to the fluctuating price of gasoline and diesel.
Ms. Tran Thi Nhan, accountant of Dong Doi Trading and Service Co., Ltd. (Dong Doi Taxi), stated: Currently, the company has 78 passenger taxis operating in the province. Despite rising fuel prices, the company is striving to maintain stable operations and not increase service prices. Currently, the starting fare is listed at 8,000-9,000 VND/km (depending on the vehicle type). The company plans to keep prices unchanged until the end of January to serve the travel needs of residents and tourists during the festival season. In the long term, the company intends to develop a price adjustment plan to submit to the relevant state management agencies to ensure profitability and stable operations.

Ms. Hoang Duc Hai, from Block 27, Ky Lua Ward, said: "I'm from Bac Son and currently live in Ky Lua Ward, so I frequently travel back to my hometown to visit my family. Recently, the increase in gasoline and diesel prices has made me quite worried that transportation costs would also increase. However, so far, I see that transportation service prices remain unchanged. Thanks to this, I and many other residents feel somewhat more at ease when traveling, especially during the beginning of the year and the festival season."
Given the fluctuations in fuel prices, the increased monitoring and control of transportation fares by relevant authorities has contributed to stabilizing the transportation market in the area. However, it is predicted that fuel prices will continue to experience complex fluctuations in the future. Therefore, state management agencies need to continue closely monitoring market developments, strengthening inspections of declared and posted transportation fares according to regulations; and promptly correcting and handling violations. At the same time, businesses also need to proactively adjust their operations, develop appropriate production and business plans, and submit plans to adjust service prices for consideration by relevant authorities, thereby contributing to ensuring the rights of the people.
