The Vietnam Pavilion at EXPO 2025 Osaka - Kansai, Japan, welcomed visitors and announced the National Tourism Year - Hue 2025. This event marked the beginning of a series of activities at the Vietnam Pavilion commemorating the 50th anniversary of national reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) and the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025).
Spanning 300 square meters, the Vietnam Pavilion at EXPO 2025 showcases Vietnamese tradition, history, and culture through modern displays and exhibition language. This is presented vividly and engagingly using cutting-edge technologies such as mapping, virtual reality, and holograms. Visitors have the opportunity to learn about Vietnam's historical development, witness Vietnamese masterpieces come to life, and explore Vietnamese tourism from afar.
In addition, from May 23-25, 2025, the Exhibition House, in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh Presidential Palace Historical Site, will organize an exhibition of photographs and documents about President Ho Chi Minh titled "President Ho Chi Minh - Symbol of the Era" at EXPO 2025.
One of the key highlights of the exhibition was the friendly and comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Japan. The exhibition hall dedicated a significant space to reviewing memorable milestones in the bilateral relationship between the two countries over the past 52 years. The Vietnam Pavilion became one of the top attractions at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan, drawing nearly 25,000 visitors over seven days (April 30 - May 6). On the morning of May 7, the Vietnam Pavilion welcomed Governor Shuichi Abe of Nagano Prefecture. Governor Shuichi Abe was delighted to enjoy a water puppet show and showed interest in Vietnam's leading OCOP (One Commune One Product) products.
Mr. Tran Nhat Hoang, Deputy General Representative of Vietnam at EXPO 2025 and Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Department, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, emphasized that EXPO 2025 is a great opportunity to promote the country and contribute Vietnam's voice to the overall development of the world in the future. This is an opportunity for the Vietnam Pavilion to introduce a new Vietnam with inclusive and comprehensive development, in which people are at the center.

In addition to the "Vietnam Pavilion" at EXPO, over the years, the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Culture have organized a series of international events such as: Vietnam National Day, Vietnam Week/Day abroad, promoting the Vietnamese language, festivals in the fields of music, painting, film, fashion, sports, cuisine, tourism… which have been held in many countries around the world.
"Vietnam Overseas Day" is an annual national promotional program organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs under the direction of the Prime Minister since 2010. To date, "Vietnam Overseas Day" has been held in countries such as South Korea, Austria, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Qatar, the UAE, the United States, Switzerland, Spain, India, Bangladesh, Canada, Russia, and China. The program, themed "Gathering the Quintessence of a Thousand Years - Rising in a New Era," has been held in Brazil and Saudi Arabia. The program aims to honor and affirm the cultural and historical values of the Vietnamese nation throughout its millennia. This theme not only emphasizes the achievements in culture, art, and precious traditions, but also reflects the aspiration for development and integration in the context of modern globalization.
The organizers of these events hope to further deepen cooperative relations between Vietnam and other countries, and also to introduce to international friends, including the Vietnamese community abroad, especially young people, the image of a beautiful Vietnam, rich in cultural identity and full of development potential, thereby promoting opportunities for bilateral and multilateral cooperation in all fields.
