Quang Nam approves planning of 744-hectare duty-free zone

Delegates of the People's Council of Quang Nam province voted to approve the construction zoning plan (scale 1/2,000) of the Duty Free Zone associated with Tam Hoa Port Area, Chu Lai Open Economic Zone.

The duty-free zone associated with Tam Hoa Port Area and Chu Lai Open Economic Zone has an area of over 744 hectares. The planning area is a duty-free zone according to Vietnamese law. The proposed functional areas are suitable for Tam Hoa Port Area and Chu Lai Open Economic Zone.

According to the plan, commercial service land is 31.59 hectares; security land is 2.5 hectares; public land is 17.98 hectares; industrial production land, warehouses, ports is 488.91 hectares; green land is 93.12 hectares; infrastructure land is 109.94 hectares.

Based on the overall planning space and zoning, the key areas are determined to include 3 areas. Specifically, area 1 is the public service center, commercial service center: the system includes administrative headquarters, commercial service buildings, hotels, etc. The project must not only have a modern design but also research and coordinate the combination of shapes and lines to create an overall modern architectural space, in harmony with the natural landscape and bring a typical image to a bustling and dynamic commercial area.

Area 2 is an industrial park, warehouse, yard, the main space is low-rise architectural works with large size to suit the function. The architectural complexes are built in concentrated, block-like blocks in the central areas to create spatial highlights for the area.

Area 3 is the port and logistics area, the main space is the port area, port logistics, logistics services.

In addition, there are key projects identified in the overall scheme of the entire area with suitable locations to achieve high efficiency in space organization.

Specifically, the commercial center complex in the northern area adjacent to the Truong Giang River is a riverside highlight, located on the main landscape axis of the northern area. The industrial park management center is a highlight for the southern area and the logistics area management center is a highlight for the port area in the eastern area.

The entire area identifies two main directions including the western gateway connecting from Tam Hoa urban area and the southern gateway, connecting with Tam Hiep Industrial Park, Chu Lai - Truong Hai Port and Logistics Area through the Tam Hoa - Tam Hiep Wharf Bridge. The southern gateway is an important connection route of Tam Hoa Duty Free Zone with Da Nang - Quang Ngai Expressway, National Highway 1A and with the cargo station of the future high-speed railway.
