Rapper Andree speaks out about 'non-standard' songs

After being included in the list of artists with deviant lyrics, rapper Andree said he will look back at himself and make music that is suitable for the culture and market.

On November 10, rapper Andree (Andree Right Hand) was among the guests attending the press conference to launch the MV Muc Ha Vo Nhan and the live concert All-Rounder The Final by singer Soobin, a close friend of his.

When asked about being on the list of artists who have been warned about lyrics that show signs of deviation from standards recently, rapper Andree told a media channel: "This is also an opportunity for me to look back at myself and my music, to make better music that is suitable for Vietnamese culture and market."

The singer affirmed that he would comply with the law and decisions from cultural management agencies, so that music and art could be regulated. He will soon release a new music product, promising to review and adjust it to suit the Vietnamese music and market.

In October, the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department sent a dispatch to rectify musical activities that showed signs of cultural deviation, naming a number of artists including Andree with the songs Em iu (collaboration with Binh Gold), CLME (collaboration with Hoang Ton and Tinle). Later, these songs were removed from the official channel, only Em iu remains in its "cleaned" version.

Previously, Soobin and Binz were also artists who proactively removed some of their music products because the lyrics mentioned partying and stimulants (Soobin alone removed the song Luat Anh in collaboration with Andree).

In the MV Muc Ha Vo Nhan with its satirical style, criticizing bad habits, the production crew noted in the end credits:

"All characters and details in the MV are fictional, satirical, do not promote any deviant behavior and are based on any original work." After the rectification moves, some artists showed more caution in making products.
