According to Wccftech , information about the next-generation Steam Deck continues to emerge as a shipping record from NBD reveals the presence of the AERITH Plus SoC (integrated circuit) – an upgraded version of the AERITH currently used in the Steam Deck. According to the leaked data, the AERITH Plus will have a maximum clock speed of 3.8 GHz, 300 MHz higher than the 3.5 GHz of the AERITH. Additionally, this SoC will have a maximum TDP of 20W, higher than the 15W of its predecessor.
The first generation Steam Decks, equipped with the AERITH chip based on Zen 2 architecture, are now lagging behind devices using Zen 4 architecture, such as the ASUS ROG Ally or Lenovo Legion Go, in terms of performance.

AERITH is the codename for the SoC designed by AMD specifically for the Steam Deck, based on the Zen 2 architecture with 4 cores, 8 threads, and an integrated GPU using the RDNA 2 architecture. The AERITH Plus version is expected to bring significant performance upgrades. In addition to increased clock speeds, the integrated GPU of this SoC can also reach a maximum of 1.8 GHz, 200 MHz higher than the 1.6 GHz of the GPU on the AERITH. It also comes with Samsung's 8,533 MT/s LPDDR5X memory, a significant upgrade from the current 6,400 MT/s LPDDR5.
AMD's upgrade of the SoC for the next-generation Steam Deck could indicate Valve is preparing a significant performance leap for the handheld device. Last year, Valve confirmed they wanted the next-generation Steam Deck to offer significantly better performance than the current version. If the leaks are accurate, the AERITH Plus could be a customized version of the Kraken Point processor line, based on the Zen 5 architecture with up to 8 cores, 16 threads, and an integrated GPU with 12 compute units. This could significantly improve the device's graphics processing capabilities and overall performance.
However, there is currently no official information about Steam Deck 2, nor the detailed specifications of the AERITH Plus SoC. Initial leaks suggest the device may launch next year, but further information from Valve or AMD is needed for confirmation.
