According to Carlos's post on his personal Instagram page, he stated that the surgery was preventative and had been planned in advance with the medical team.
“I want to clarify the information that has been circulating recently. I just underwent a preventative medical procedure, which was carefully prepared with the doctors. The surgery was successful and I am perfectly fine. I did not have a heart attack,” Carlos wrote.
Earlier, Brazilian media reported that the legendary former left-back had to be urgently hospitalized while on vacation with his wife and one child in his hometown. Doctors discovered some cardiovascular problems and decided to perform immediate intervention to ensure his health and safety.
