The reigning Serie A champions are targeting Hojlund following the injury to their main striker Lukaku, which will keep him out of action for at least three months.
The Danish striker himself accepted the departure, having been informed that he would have limited playing opportunities at Old Trafford this season.

Napoli will face competition from AC Milan, who have also shown particular interest in Hojlund recently.
Milan are willing to pay a £4.5 million loan fee, with an option to buy them permanently next summer for £39 million.
Initially, Hojlund insisted on staying to fight for the center forward position with Sesko. However, coach Amorim consistently left his pupil out of the matchday squad.
The Danish striker himself understands that if he tries to cling to Old Trafford, his career will only decline further.
In 95 appearances for the Red Devils, Hojlund scored 26 goals. He struggled to adapt to the demanding environment of English football.
If Hojlund moves to Napoli, he will be reunited with his former teammate McTominay, who has played exceptionally well since leaving Manchester United.
