From early morning, a large number of people from Phuoc Am village, dressed in their finest attire, gathered in front of the shrine of Lady Cho Duoc to offer flowers, fruits, and other offerings to the Lady. The village elders presided over the traditional ceremony.
According to legend, Lady Cho Duoc, whose given name was Nguyen Thi Cua, was born in 1800 during the reign of King Le Canh Hung. Upon her birth, she exhibited several unusual characteristics: an unusual gait and a resonant voice. She passed away in 1817. In 1852, she manifested herself in Phuoc Am village, transforming into a beautiful young woman who sold betel nuts and water, dispensed medicine to the poor, and used her powers to punish corrupt officials.

She transformed the barren sandy land in Phuoc Am village into a bustling market. To commemorate her meritorious deeds in establishing the Duoc Market, every year, on the 11th day of the first lunar month (the day she received her first royal decree), the people of Phuoc Am village hold a ceremony to worship her. Not only the local people, but also those who have left their hometown or people from all over the country gather here.

According to Mr. Dang Van Hung, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thang An commune, the Ba Cho Duoc Festival is a valuable intangible cultural heritage. It is a distinctive traditional cultural feature, deeply rooted in the spirituality and beliefs of the people of Cho Duoc, aiming to pray for a new year of favorable weather and abundant harvests.

Immediately following the ritual of worshipping the Goddess of Cho Duoc is the traditional boat race, a lively activity within the framework of the festival.
This year's competition brings together 7 racing boats from the following localities: Tan An Thuong Duc, Cam Nam, Thu Bon, Ngu Hanh Nai Hung Son Tra, Que Phu, Dien Trung Dien Ban, and the host team Thang An. The teams will compete in two distances: 4,000 meters and 6,000 meters.
This year's Ba Cho Duoc Festival, held over four days from February 25th to 28th, is larger and more diverse than in previous years, harmoniously combining traditional rituals with community-based experiences. The festival also includes a traditional rural market with stalls selling local produce.
