In early December, decoration stalls simultaneously "transformed" with the characteristic colors of the Christmas season. Plastic Christmas trees were the most sought-after items, with dozens of different designs: snow-covered trees, LED-lit trees, three-layered leaf trees, two-sided leaf trees, etc. Prices ranged from 200,000 VND to several million VND per product depending on size and material.
A wide variety of decorative accessories are also available: bells and tinsel priced from 5,000 to 40,000 VND per item; wreaths from 65,000 to 400,000 VND per wreath; decorative baubles from 60,000 to 250,000 VND per set; and Christmas costumes for children from 100,000 to 300,000 VND per set.
Alongside this, many cafes and restaurants are also investing heavily in Christmas-themed decorations to attract customers to check in. Photo spots, snow-themed scenes, Santa Claus and reindeer models have become highlights, giving customers, especially young people, more reasons to dress up, take pictures, and enjoy seasonal drinks.
At Lan's Coffee (Tan Hanh Ward), the Christmas space was decorated early in September with the theme "Winter Wonderland." Ms. Tran Ngoc Tuyet Phuong, the manager of the cafe, shared: "This year, the cafe continues to invest heavily in the experiential space. A large Christmas tree, 5-6 meters tall, is placed in the middle of the courtyard, along with miniature Nordic wooden houses, giant gift boxes, bear houses, etc., to make it easy for customers to take photos. The cafe also offers costume rentals starting from 90,000 VND and, especially, a free snow spraying service upon request. The decorated space will remain until December 25th. We plan to organize a mini photo contest for customers to experience, creating more bonding activities and capturing memorable moments of the festive season."
At bookstores, this year's Christmas market is not only vibrant with Christmas trees and accessories, but also rich in gifts, and Christmas-themed books for children and families.
Ms. Lu Thi My Lien, Head of the Fahasa Bookstore (Long Chau Ward), said: “This year's Christmas atmosphere arrived early; customers started asking about Christmas trees and decorations from the end of October. Currently, sales have increased by about 30% compared to the same period last year. Products of medium size and mid-range price are the most popular choices, especially the artificial Christmas trees covered in orange and pink snow, which are a 'hot trend' this year, with prices ranging from 250,000 VND to 3 million VND per tree.”
Mr. Pham Chi Man, Deputy Director of Vinh Long Book and Equipment Joint Stock Company (Long Chau Ward), commented: “This year's Christmas decoration market has seen many innovations, with more beautiful and luxurious designs. Some imported products have seen a slight price increase of about 20% compared to last year. The company has also implemented many promotions such as free gift wrapping, discounts on toys, and a Santa Claus home delivery service to stimulate consumer demand.”
Ms. Nguyen Thi My, owner of a toy store (Cang Long commune), said: "Every year, purchasing power increases by about 10% during the Christmas season. Prices haven't fluctuated much this year, so people can shop quite comfortably."
Forecasts indicate that purchasing power will continue to increase from now until the holiday, especially in the categories of medium-sized Christmas trees, mid-range decorative accessories, children's gifts, and Christmas gift delivery services. This year's Christmas season promises to continue bringing a dazzling and colorful atmosphere, a time for families and friends to enjoy themselves and create beautiful memories before the new year begins.
