The movement of group singing and dancing is in full swing.
Walking through the grounds of the Military Technical Academy, we encountered cadets in their early twenties, their eyes radiant and their smiles bright. Then, a song rang out in the sun-drenched courtyard: “The eastern sky, a bright rosy light bursts forth. White doves fly back in the new sunlight. Millions of people join hands around the Communist Party of Vietnam , a solid union of workers and peasants…” The choir of Company 358, Battalion 3, joined in singing “Welcome to the Communist Party of Vietnam” (composed by Do Minh). A spring song about the Party is truly meaningful! The songs celebrating the Party and the spring were sung from the hearts of these young people in military uniforms, carrying with them pride, faith, and a desire to contribute.

Students happily sing and dance in the grounds of the Military Technical Academy. |
Arriving here, we felt like we were transported back to our youth, to days of diligent training and vibrant, enthusiastic activities. Young people are always cheerful and love to sing. Standing before his comrades, Sergeant Tran Duc Dung, a student from Company 358, acted as the "conductor," leading the entire group in practice. Duc Dung shared: "We enthusiastically sing after our classes in the lecture hall. During breaks and days off, singing multiplies the joy, inspires motivation, and strengthens camaraderie." Four years at the Academy, living, studying, and working in a military environment, for the students, alongside their studies and training, there are still lively songs and rhythmic dances within the military group. With a talent for performing arts, Dung not only enjoys singing but also shares that passion with his comrades.
Group singing and dancing activities in the military environment are not just for fun and entertainment, but also carry profound educational significance. Through these activities, trainees develop teamwork skills, organizational abilities, discipline, and a sense of responsibility. Songs celebrating the Party, the Lunar New Year, and revolutionary songs, performed with youthful voices, contribute to building ideals, nurturing faith, and fostering pride in tradition. As a first-year trainee, Private Nguyen Viet Hoa, a student in System 1, feels excited to sing along with her comrades. Previously, at home, Hoa had few opportunities to participate in group activities. Nguyen Viet Hoa shared: “Since joining the unit, each cultural and artistic activity is a fun experience, bringing joy, enthusiasm, and a stronger bond with the unit.”
A bridge connecting teammates
To create a vibrant and enthusiastic atmosphere of competition throughout the Academy, especially during the Lunar New Year, the Mass Mobilization Department (Political Department, Military Technical Academy) has closely coordinated with units to extensively implement the collective singing and dancing movement. Accordingly, students learn and practice 15 prescribed songs in the Army, 6 traditional songs of the Military Technical Academy, and 5 dances for collective troop activities.
During breaks and days off, units organize practice sessions in groups, with officers directly guiding and correcting movements and rhythms. Thanks to this scientific and flexible organization, the collective dance and singing movement is vibrant, attracting a large number of students to participate, creating a joyful and united atmosphere, and fostering greater affection and attachment to the Academy.
In addition, arts and culture clubs such as guitar clubs and modern dance clubs are regularly maintained, becoming a valuable playground for students with talent and passion. Here, students not only have the opportunity to unleash their creativity and express themselves but also to interact, learn, and strengthen their bonds within the group.
In particular, in the 2025-2026 academic year, the Military Technical Academy began training civilian students. Under the roof of the Academy, military cadets and civilian students interact, creating a vibrant atmosphere that is both deeply rooted in the discipline and resilience of soldiers and imbued with the freshness and dynamism of youth. Cultural exchange events, especially during celebrations of the Party and the Lunar New Year, serve as a bridge connecting young people, helping them better understand the military environment.
The youthful energy and love of music were showcased when the Academy organized singing competitions of prescribed songs and dance performances as part of its group activities. Here, students immersed themselves in the atmosphere of music and graceful, rhythmic dances. Many students from Hanoi National University and Hanoi Pedagogical University were also invited to participate in the exchange with the soldiers. Lieutenant Colonel Vu Huy Hoang, Head of the Mass Mobilization Department, said: “Group singing and dancing competitions are useful playgrounds for students to relax after stressful study hours, enhance their ability to interact, and strengthen camaraderie. Within the military cultural environment, students are tempered, their faith is nurtured, and their aspirations and youthful enthusiasm are ignited.”
