Ronaldo was absent from Al Nassr's last two matches – a 1-0 win against Al Riyadh and a 2-0 win against Al Ittihad – due to dissatisfaction with how the club and the Saudi Arabian football leadership handled important issues.
The strike stemmed from Ronaldo's complaints about the behind-the-scenes workings at Al Nassr, including frustration that the team was almost completely inactive in the January transfer market, while rivals like Al Hilal made big signings.
The situation reached a peak when Al Hilal signed Benzema, Ronaldo's former teammate at Real Madrid. The Portuguese superstar felt that Al Hilal was receiving excessive preferential treatment, leading to an imbalance in Saudi Arabian football.
Furthermore, Ronaldo criticized the delayed salary payments to some club staff members, which he considered disrespectful to those who work behind the scenes.
During Ronaldo's absence, Al Nassr fans continued to show strong support with banners, slogans, and calls for his return to the team, demonstrating the far-reaching influence of the Portuguese superstar within the Saudi Arabian club.
According to the newspaper A Bola , the negotiations showed many positive signs as Al Nassr's management and Ronaldo reached an agreement: the club settled the overdue salary payments for staff and committed to investing more heavily in the future.
Despite returning to training, Ronaldo is not certain to play in the AFC Champions League match against Arkadag due to fitness issues. He is expected to feature in the next round of the Saudi Pro League.
