Cristiano Ronaldo has officially reached an agreement to extend his contract with Al Nassr.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Ronaldo will remain with Al Nassr for at least another season, and the club is working to extend his contract until 2027.

This was a significant step for both Ronaldo and the Saudi Pro League. Upon joining Al Nassr in December 2022, the former Manchester United star became the first major player to accept an offer from the Public Investment Fund (PIF), initiating a wave of European players to Saudi Arabian football such as Karim Benzema, N'golo Kante, and Neymar.

However, Ronaldo's journey at Al Nassr didn't quite live up to expectations. Despite scoring 99 goals in 111 matches – a performance many strikers would envy – he failed to help the team win any major titles. The numerous trophyless seasons in both domestic and continental competitions led many to doubt the future of the Portuguese superstar.

But once again, Ronaldo chose to go against the odds. At 40, instead of seeking a more comfortable destination, he committed himself to the challenge in Saudi Arabia.

Being ready to play until 2027 – when he turns 42 – shows that Ronaldo still has a great desire, especially to win titles with Al Nassr.

For the Saudi Pro League, retaining Ronaldo is of great significance. He is not only an icon on the field but also the face of the league, promoting it to the world .

Ronaldo's presence helps attract media attention, fans, and sponsors, while also providing leverage to recruit more international stars.

If the new contract is finalized, Ronaldo will enter his fifth year at Al Nassr – a remarkable milestone in an already illustrious career. And as always, he continues to write his own story, where age limitations or doubts are never a barrier.

Ronaldo hasn't stopped there. And Saudi Arabia, both on and off the pitch, still needs him.
