Springtime Colors of Yen Lap

This is the first spring marking the strong transformation of the commune after the merger, affirming the correctness and effectiveness of the two-tiered local government model.

Overcoming headwinds to reach the finish line.

Comrade Nguyen Ngoc Hung, Secretary of the Party Committee of Yen Lap commune, shared that Yen Lap commune was formed by merging two old administrative units (Yen Lap and Binh Phu) with a total natural area of over 10,300 hectares. In the early days of operation, there were many difficulties; however, under the close and direct guidance from the province and the unity of the political system, Yen Lap has transformed difficulties into motivation.

By the end of 2025, the commune had completed and exceeded many important targets. Total budget revenue in the area reached over 335 million VND, exceeding the plan by 20.5%; average per capita income was 45.8 million VND/person/year. This is clear evidence of the smooth operation of the new government apparatus.

The Na Hec plum orchard in Yen Lap commune attracts many tourists.

Visiting Yen Lap during the days leading up to Tet (Lunar New Year), one easily encounters trucks carrying agricultural and forestry products traveling back and forth along the paved roads. Recognizing forestry as a key sector, the commune has successfully implemented the project to develop Tuyen Quang into a high-tech forestry zone. Forest cover has been maintained at 75%, with a timber harvest of over 14,800 m³ from planted forests, making a significant contribution to the province's processing plants.

Besides preserving the green forests, Yen Lap is also undergoing a strong shift in mindset from agricultural production to agricultural economics . Value chain linkage models such as cucumber cultivation in the summer-autumn and winter seasons have brought profits, opening up legitimate avenues for wealth creation for local people. 3-star OCOP products such as seedless persimmons and green bamboo shoots are gradually establishing the brand of local agricultural products.

Spring of the human heart, Spring of hope

This spring, the joy of the people of Yen Lap is doubled as social welfare is ensured. This year, the demolition of temporary and dilapidated houses has been completed for all 80 households. This Tet holiday, these 80 families will celebrate New Year's Eve in their new, sturdy, and warm homes. To date, the multidimensional poverty rate has decreased by 8.93%, exceeding the assigned target (the plan aimed for over 4%).

As material living standards improve, spiritual life also flourishes. The folk melodies of the Dao ethnic folk culture club in Phu Lam village, the Tay ethnic folk culture club in Tin Keo village, and the sounds of the Tinh lute and Then dance resonate once again. The Long Tong festival and the boat racing festival are being meticulously prepared, promising a vibrant and culturally rich festival season.

Entering 2026, Yen Lap aims for an average per capita income of 48.2 million VND and strives to have a new OCOP product: Na Hec herbal rice wine. With renewed momentum from an advanced management model and the unity of the ethnic communities, Yen Lap is confidently stepping into the new year, promising abundant harvests.
