According to Digitaltrends , Samsung will hold its Unpacked event on May 13th and allow pre-orders for the ultra-slim Galaxy S25 Edge from May 24th onwards.
The product was previously scheduled to launch on April 15th but has been postponed to May or June due to technical reasons. Some well-known leakers, such as Roland Quandt, have even questioned whether Samsung might cancel the launch altogether.
An internal source says that not everyone will be able to get their hands on the Galaxy S25 Edge right away, as the initial launch will only take place in South Korea and China. According to the same source, the good news is that the phone will be released in the US and other global markets starting May 20th.
Samsung has never explicitly confirmed whether this phone will launch in the US. But with this information, fans can hope that the company will release it widely, rather than limiting it to just a few Asian regions.
The price of the Galaxy S25 Edge has not yet been announced, but it is estimated to be around 1.5 million won (approximately $1,045 ). This is roughly the same as the Galaxy S25 Plus, which currently costs around $1,000 .
The source also revealed the model numbers of the upcoming devices, stating that the Galaxy S25 Edge will come in three colors: silver, blue, and black. For each version, users can choose between 256GB or 512GB of storage. Silicone and leather Kindsuit cases will also be released alongside the new device.
With a price somewhere between the Galaxy S25 Plus and S25 Ultra, Digitaltrends suggests that this phone isn't cheap considering what it offers. However, users are likely to still favor it thanks to its slimmer and lighter design.
The Galaxy S25 Edge is predicted to have a frame thickness of 5.8mm to 6.4mm, a 6.7-inch screen, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. The back of the phone will have two camera modules, and no telephoto lens to allow for zooming in on objects without affecting image quality.
There is speculation that Samsung "rushed" the launch of the Galaxy S25 Edge to outpace rivals like Apple, with the ultra-thin iPhone 17 Air expected to be announced later this year. Previously, Samsung also launched the Z Flip series to directly compete with the iPhone launch.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 will still be introduced this summer. If May 13th is indeed the date for Galaxy Unpacked, invitations will be sent out in early May. This promises to be a major event worth noting for the Galaxy S25 Edge and Samsung's summer product lineup.
