According to Digitaltrends , Samsung will hold an Unpacked event on May 13 and allow pre-orders for the super-thin Galaxy S25 Edge phone from May 24.
The product was previously scheduled to launch on April 15, but was postponed to May or June due to technical reasons. Some famous leakers such as Roland Quandt even questioned whether Samsung could cancel the launch altogether.
An insider said that not everyone will get their hands on the Galaxy S25 Edge right away, as the initial launch will only take place in South Korea and China. The good news, according to the same source, is that the phone will be released in the US and other global markets from May 20.
Samsung has never explicitly confirmed that this phone will launch in the US. But with the above information, fans can hope that the company will launch widely, instead of just limiting it to a few Asian regions.
The price of the Galaxy S25 Edge has not been announced yet, but is estimated to be around 1.5 million won (equivalent to 1,045 USD ). This is almost on par with the Galaxy S25 Plus, which is currently around 1,000 USD .
The source also revealed the model numbers of the upcoming devices, saying that the Galaxy S25 Edge will come in three colors: silver, blue, and black. For each version, users can choose between 256GB or 512GB of storage. Silicone and kindsuit leather cases will also be released with the new device.
With a price somewhere between the Galaxy S25 Plus and S25 Ultra, Digitaltrends believes that this phone is not cheap compared to what it brings. However, it is likely that users will still prefer this product thanks to the change in thin, light design.
The Galaxy S25 Edge is expected to have a 5.8mm to 6.4mm thick frame, a 6.7-inch display, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. The back of the phone will have two camera clusters, and there is no telephoto lens that allows you to zoom in on a subject without affecting image quality.
There is speculation that Samsung “rushed” the launch of the Galaxy S25 Edge to beat rivals like Apple, whose ultra-thin iPhone 17 Air is expected to be announced later this year. Previously, Samsung also launched the Z Flip line to compete directly with the iPhone launch.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 will still be introduced this summer. If May 13 is the date of Galaxy Unpacked, invitations will be sent out in early May. This promises to be a big event worth noting for the Galaxy S25 Edge and Samsung's summer products.
