The results mark a significant recovery for Libya's oil and gas industry, a cornerstone of the country's economy . According to official figures, oil now accounts for over 90% of state revenue and over 95% of Libya's exports.
However, the North African nation's oil production has been repeatedly disrupted in recent years due to conflict, political instability, and disputes over control of oil fields and export ports.
Despite these challenges, Libya's oil and gas industry is showing positive signs. According to local media, Libya's National Oil Corporation recorded its highest monthly revenue in 10 years last May, reaching nearly $4 billion.
Experts believe that the increase in oil production to its highest level in more than a decade will not only improve Libya's budget revenue but also help strengthen its position in the regional and global energy markets.
