To commemorate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Slovenia (1994-2024), and with the aim of further deepening economic and trade cooperation, on the morning of September 26, 2024, the Ministry of Industry and Trade (Trade Promotion Department) collaborated with the Ministry of Economy, Tourism and Sports of Slovenia (Slovenia Business Development Agency) to organize the Vietnam-Slovenia Business Forum.
Through this Forum, Vietnamese and Slovenian businesses have the opportunity to meet, share experiences, learn about market information, and connect for trade, find partners to consume their products, and expand export markets.
The Vietnam-Slovenia Trade Forum was chaired by Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan. Attending the conference from the Vietnamese side were Mr. Vu Ba Phu, Director of the Trade Promotion Department, and leaders from functional units of the Ministry of Industry and Trade (Europe-America Market Department, Industry Department, Import-Export Department, and the Ministry's Office).

Representing Slovenia were Ms. Mojca Deželak – Deputy Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to Beijing, Mr. Rok Capl, Director of the Slovenian Business Development Agency (SPIRIT Slovenia), and Ms. Vesna Nahtigal, Director General of the Slovenian Chamber of Commerce and Industry . Nearly 100 associations, companies, and corporations involved in manufacturing, import, and export from various sectors in Vietnam and Slovenia participated in the Forum.
Within the framework of the Forum, the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency and the Slovenian Business Development Agency (SPIRIT Slovenia) will also hold a signing ceremony for a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation. This Memorandum of Understanding will help the two sides create a stable, sustainable, and systematic cooperation mechanism; establish a plan for implementing trade promotion activities in the coming time; contribute to promoting cooperation between the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency and SPIRIT Slovenia in particular and strengthening economic and trade cooperation between Vietnam and Slovenia in general.
At the Forum, delegates listened to presentations on the investment and business environment in Vietnam and Slovenia, as well as opportunities for trade cooperation between Vietnamese and Slovenian businesses. In addition, there were two discussion sessions on sea and land transport services in the context of current global supply chains focusing on the Asia-Pacific and Europe regions.
The highlight of the Forum was the Vietnam-Slovenia Business Networking Program, with the participation of nearly 100 businesses in the transportation and logistics sectors. Through this networking program, businesses from both countries had the opportunity to meet, interact, and exchange information directly on issues of interest, including import and export needs for specific goods, thereby contributing to promoting economic, trade, and investment exchanges between Vietnam and Slovenia.
The Vietnam-Slovenia Trade Forum opens up new opportunities and continues to create favorable conditions for Vietnamese and Slovenian businesses to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation in the field of trade, contributing positively to promoting stable and balanced economic and trade relations between Vietnam and Slovenia, and continuing to be a bright spot in bilateral relations.
